Espload Open Port Faillure Solution. The following link http://support.microsoft.com/ explains why this error message (OPEN PORT FAILURE) is prompted. Please take some time to read it and attempt the solution that they provide. If that does not solve it, then disabling the Communication Port (WINDOWS SETTING) your modem is connected to, then re-enabling it will solve this. Make sure that you "APPLY" the changes when disabling/enabling the Communication Port. How can I transfer all my accounts to another ESPload installation? There are two ways of performing this. 1. The first would to export all the accounts from an existing database, and import them to the new installation. Export Select the account(s) you wish to export by pushing the spacebar on each account Push [F9] - Imp./Exp. Select Save accounts to disk Enter a file name along with the Directory path to save the file Import Push [F9] - Imp./Exp. Select Restore accounts from Disk Enter the exported file name along with the it s directory location
2. The second way would be to copy files account.ix and account.dat from an old ESPload installation to a new installation. **Please note that the security stamp of the old installation is required. With what Operating Systems is ESPload compatible? ESPload version 2.41 and lower is compatible with Windows 95/98/Millenium. ESPload version 3.20 and higher is fully compatible with Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Millenium. Note: Version 2.41 and lower can generate Run Time Error 200 depending on the computer speed. What are the major differences between versions 3.XX and lower? As of V3.20: Support for Esprit 728 Ultra and 708 Ultra (708ULT) Support for faster computers, up to any speed Installed through Windows for an easier installation process and supports all versions of Windows, except Windows NT. As of V3.21: Improved the modem initialization process when using the Call Back or Answering Machine Override feature to connect to an account via Batch Schedule Mode (F7).
*ESPLOAD versions 2.41 and lower What is Run Time Error 103, and why am I receiving it? Espload always requires the "command.com" file to be located in the root directory of its installation. By default, Espload will be installed in the following directory C:\ESPLOAD, therefore, it will try and locate the "command.com" file in the C: directory before it can properly execute. The command.com file with Windows95/98 is located in the C: directory, whereas with WindowsXP and 2000, it is located in "C: WINDOWS/system32/command.com". Simply copy the command.com file into the C: directory and then try executing Espload under WindowsXP and 2000 operating systems. *ESPLOAD versions 2.41 and lower What is Run Time Error 103, and why am I receiving it? The "Run time error 200" you are receiving is being generated during the installation process or when being executed when Espload is being installed on a fast computer. We are aware of this situation and have fixed it in version 3.0 and higher. This is an error that is only caused with DOS based software's. Attached you will find a link to a web site that clearly explains the cause of this error. Please take some time to read it. http://www.brain.uni-freiburg.de/~klaus/pascal/runerr200/
With what Operating Systems is Winload compatible? Winload has been fully tested and compatible with Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Millenium. Can two different users access one database? Yes, 2 different workstations can access the same database if the software is installed on a server in a network environment, or in a different location. Can two different users access the same account simultaneously on a shared database? No. Winload will only limit access to one user per account. What type of action does the S10 modem command perform? What is the definition/description of this command, and how to I find it out? S10: Set the Duration, in tenths of a second that the modem waits to hang up after loss of carrier. S10=255 gives the modem 25.5 seconds before hanging up after loss of the carrier. This is considered plenty of time for the modem to wait. In order to view the definition/description of a certain modem command, you would need to enter into the Advanced Modem setup screen, and proceed by right clicking in one of the Init string fields.
What would cause Winload to hang up before the panel would attempt to acknowledge an incoming call (assuming the panel is set to pick up on 15-rings), how can this be fixed? A minimum of 90-seconds (US and Canada) is generally the duration before a total of 15-rings can be processed. In Winload, there is a section where this duration can be adjusted. Entering 120-secs (2-minutes) would be an appropriate time value. Why do some modems appear on the Modem Name list but do not display any initialization strings for it? Because these modems are not listed as supported modems, consequently, Winload does not automatically assign a string to it. How would you perform a Remove Module action with Winload? This is the only section that is not possible to access through Winload. It can only be accessed on site from section [955] with a Digiplex-848, or section [4005] with a Digiplex-NE96. In the monitoring page of Winload, does the status of the access doors display the door-zone, or if the door is locked/unlocked? The monitoring page will only display the status of the zone connected to the access control unit, and not if the door is locked/unlocked.
How can you manually lock/unlock a door with the software? Locking or Unlocking a door through Winload is not possible. Only NEware has this remote capability for now. Why does the monitoring page not display the zone status when you initially connect to the panel? The control panel s zones page needs to be uploaded at least one time before Winload is able to display the proper zone status of each zone. What s the difference between Release and Override in the PGM page? PGM Override: When the PGM Override is activated (turned on), the PGM will ignore any Activation Events and remain in its idle state. *Warning! When this feature is enabled the PGM Override will be in effect even after logging off WinLoad. The only way to deactivate (turn off) the PGM Override is through WinLoad (basically this means you will have to enter WinLoad, enter the on-line monitoring, click the PGM button, and turn off the PGM Override). Releasing the PGM (All Digiplex Series panels Only): When the PGM Release feature is activated (turned on), the PGM will immediately be activated (go to its opposite state). This will not interfere with any activation or deactivation events already programmed for the PGM. What purpose does the Relative time option have in the information page? If a system is installed at a customer that is in a different time zone, the relative time programmed will automatically increment or decrement xx hours to the PC time when programming the clock with Winload.
Are there any hot keys (F#) to connect with the modem, 306/CONV1, and to disconnect from the panel? Connect with modem [F5] Direct Connection [F6] Disconnect from panel [F9] How can you put a single or multiple accounts in another account group? A single account can be switched over to another account group by selecting its destination group from the drop down menu located in the information tab. Multiple accounts can be switched over to another account group by selecting the accounts using the Ctrl key from the keyboard, and clicking onto the accounts you wish to switch over.
When changing database, where do you need to point to in order to do so? Winload automatically creates a folder called Data once it is initially installed in the following directory; C:\Program Files\Paradox Security Systems\WinLoad. This folder will contain the information regarding all the accounts that will be created. Procedure: 1. After logging onto WinLoad, select Setup from the menu bar. 2. Highlight Database and then select Change Database Directory Path. 3. The Select Directory pop-up window will appear. Select the drive that the desired database is in by clicking on the Drives drop-down list and selecting the drive. 4. After selecting the drive, select the directory that the database is in from the directories window and double-click on the Data directory. EX: (Default) C:\Program Files\Paradox Security Systems\WinLoad 5. Click OK. 6. Type the appropriate security code corresponding to the database. How do you add an account for schedule/batch mode? Highlight the desired account and click on the batch/scheduler mode to automatically assign this account to the desired mode.
Is there a limit of how many Winload users that can be created? WinLoad does not limit the amount of users that can be created to access the software. Is there a limit of how many Account groups that can be created? WinLoad does not limit the amount of account groups that can be created within the software. Is it possible to have scheduled backups of the database? If yes, explain. Yes it is. From the Setup menu, select Utilities and then program the database backup according to your preferences. Can a DGPNE panel be converted to a DGP-048/848, or vice versa? If yes, how? Yes. After a panel has been properly programmed, right clicking on the panel under the System tab will prompt you with the Convert panel to option. This feature will give you the option to convert the panel accordingly. How can I select a range of events to print from the Event List page, instead of printing all of them? After successfully uploading events from the panel s memory buffer, click onto a starting range event and drag your cursor towards the direction and event you would
like to print. After you have selected/highlighted the range of events to print, click onto the printer icon to commence a print preview of the selected events. What does the Pack database serve as? Provide a relative example(s)? Database packing permanently deletes purged client accounts from the hard disk to save memory. The actual packing is accomplished by defragmenting the hard disk. Procedure; 1. From the Main window, click Setup, highlight Database and click Pack Database. WinLoad will then confirm the action. Click Yes. 2. For safety measures, WinLoad will backup the purged client accounts into another directory just in case they are needed in the future. Select the directory to which the purged client accounts will be backed up to and click OK. 3. WinLoad will then confirm whether you wish to back up the data to the selected directory. Click Yes. 4. If the action was successful, WinLoad will confirm this with you. Click OK. If you are certain that you will not need the purged client accounts in the future. Graphica How frequently will the Special Events display on the Graphica once it is programmed? All day on the day it s programmed, at every 1-minute interval after the last key was pressed on the keypad. Pressing a button on the keypad will make the image disappear until the 1-minute interval has elapsed.
What is the maximum amount of tones that can be programmed for the Graphica keypad? 16. They can be changed using NEware or Winoad s Grafica interface but no more can be added. What is the screen setting on the screen of the Graphica? The screen setting on the Grafica is 128x92 pixels. How can a floor plan be viewed on the keypad if it does not have a zone assigned to it? There is no way to view floor plans if zones have not previously been assigned to it.

If you backup and restore a database from one location to another, you will loose the user name labels of all the users. To solve this issue you will need to copy the following 4-files into the restored database. System.db System.mb System.px System.val
Why do I only have access to the Monitoring page when I log into NEware? Only codes with a Master or Full-Master level will be permitted to access other features of the software. A regular user will only be limited to the Monitoring page and all its features.
U n i v e r s a l I n f i e l d P r o g r a m m e r How many updates can I perform before the batteries need to be replaced? A maximum of 50 firmware updates using Duracell batteries can be performed before the batteries need to be replaced. *Please note that the number of updates will vary according to what types of batteries are being installed. Is the UIP compatible with all versions of Grafica graphic LCD keypad (DNE-K07)? The UIP can only update Grafica graphic LCD keypads that are version 1.21 or higher. How do I know if my batteries are weak and need to be replaced? During Start Test, the UIP will start a sequence of tests. The third test it performs is the UIP s module s battery voltage. If the voltage drops below 14.5volts, the UIP will indicate that the battery voltage is too low to perform an update.
Why is it that my test is failing on the Detecting the UIP module action even though I have correctly connected my DB-9 cable to my UIP and my PC s DB-9 communication port? During Start Test, the UIP will start a sequence of tests. The first test it performs is Detecting the UIP module. This does not only test communication between the PC and UIP, but the communication between the UIP and the module (Grafica graphic LCD keypad (DNE-K07). If either of those two connections is not present, the UIP will indicate an error message.
