Volume Type Volume Type Normal HDP H-UVM Software Requirements The Hitachi Adapter for Oracle RMAN must be installed on a Linux OS that is under Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control for running as an OEM plug-in. Note the following minimum requirements. For Linux platforms, you must set up Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) before Hitachi Adapter for Oracle RMAN is used. Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 6.5 or 6.6. Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control is required for RMAN OEM plug-in mode of operation only Command Control Interface (CCI) 01-34-03/04 or higher. Must be installed and configured. Known Problems This section lists all known problems associated with the Hitachi RMAN Adapter that are not fixed this release. HNAS Support: If the RMAN backup destination is any storage system other than the same HNAS system where the Oracle database resides, backup performance may be slow. For better performance, set the RMAN backup destination to the HNAS system that contains the Oracle database. Oracle Issue: The create_database_image.sh script for the HNAS fails and displays the following error codes: [E410000C] Backup of the control file failed with return code 1 [E4100001] create_database_image FAILED. However, when you re-run the script, it succeeds in creating the backup image. BASH Code Injection Vulnerability (ShellShock bug CVE-2014-6271): The RMAN adapter relies heavily on running BASH shell scripts. BASH versions prior to bash-4.1.2-15.el6_5.2 are vulnerable to the ShellShock Software bug. Ensure that you run BASH scripts with the version bash-4.1.2-15.el6_5.2 of higher. RAC Database with Flash archive turned on: The restore script fails to restore a RAC database when the flash archive option is turned on during the creation of the database. In this case, use Oracle RMAN directly to restore and recover the RAC database. Restore Scripts from OEM GUI: Run restore operation scripts from the command line. The restore operation fails when you run it from the OEM GUI. HNAS Performance issue: If the RMAN backup destination is any storage system other than the HNAS where the Oracle database resides, backup performance may be slow. For better performance, set the RMAN backup destination to the HNAS system that contains the Oracle database. Multiple Databases Logging: When using multiple databases for logging, you can identify log entries residing on a specific database using the process ID in the log file. RMAN COW/HTI Support: The RMAN HTI restore operation recovers data from the most recent using RMAN backup. Similar to SI. RMAN HTI also supports the multiple snapshot (HTI) feature, enabling you to restore from any snapshot (HTI). This operation does not use the RMAN backup feature. Licensing: License verification fails for HUVM storages.
