1 Overview M660 demo board provides a series of peripheral interfaces, including main power supply interface, UART interfaces for commissioning and software download, and SIM card interface. You can perform commissioning after connecting to power supply and serial ports. This document describes only module commissioning. For details about software update, please refer to module update document. 2 Interfaces This demo board can be used once connected through power and serial cables. Interface Function Cable VBAT GND RXD TXD Main power supply of the module Supports 3.6 V to 4.3 V Average current: > 600 ma. Ground CMOS level Receiving interface 3.1 V at most CMOS level Transmitting interface 2.85 V output Power cables, serial cables Copyright Neoway Technology Co., Ltd 1

3.3 Connection Cables Power and Serial Cables For details about the connection, see 3.4. 3.4 M5X0-PWR Board Refer to the silk print label. The above figure shows an M5X0-PWR board, which supplies 3.8V/0.6A power for the module and outputs 3.3 V CMOS level TXD and RXD for the communication between the computer and the module and software update. It is connected to the M660 demo board through 4-pin cables, which have been soldered to the power board in a sequence of red, black, yellow, and green at one end and should be inserted into the plug of the demo board at the other end. There are two pins on the power board and they can control the power supply of the module. Among the 4-pin cables: Green: TXD, output, 2.85 V CMOS level Yellow: RXD, input, CMOS level, 3.1 V maximum Black: Ground Red: VBAT, 3.6 V to 4.3 V, 3.9 V is recommended Copyright Neoway Technology Co., Ltd 3
If you want to use this power board to commission the module through serial port on a computer, install a driver for USB to serial (PL2303 Windows Driver). If you want to use an MCU to control the demo board, you also need to use the 4-pin cables. 3.5 Commissioning Perform product commissioning directly on a computer through the USB interface. The power board and demo board are connected as shown in the following figure. Demo board is connected to a computer through the power board USB interface M660 demo board M5X0 PWR board Before the commissioning, you must install the PL2303 Windows Driver. Then, connect the demo board to a computer as shown in the following figure. Copyright Neoway Technology Co., Ltd 4
