Check if Email transmission is available in the customer s installation environment before this setup. Acquire the information related the server for Email transmission. Ver.1.1 1
1. Email Send Setting 1) Open the web browser such as Internet Explorer, etc. and input the IP address of the main unit in the address bar and press the [Enter] key. Note: If the IP address is not clear, refer to page 12. 2) Input the user name and the password of Admin Login and press [Login]. User name: Admin Password: Admin 3) Click [Network Settings]. 2
4) Check the network settings. Click [TCP/IP] to check the settings. 4-2) Check IPv4 Settings. The check is unnecessary if DHCP-BOOTP is On. If DHCP/BOOTP is Off, check the following. Default Gateway: Check if the IP address of the router appears. DNS Server (Primary): Check the PC settings and input them. Note: The check of DNS Server (Secondary) is unnecessary. When the SMTP Server name was registered as the IP address described on the next page, the DNS Server (Primary) does not need to be input. Refer to page 13 for the way to check the default Gateway or the DNS Server. 4-1) Click [TCPIP]. 4-3) Press [Submit] to decide the settings. Note: The system should be restarted after changing the settings. (Turn Off and On the main power of the main unit) 3
5) Check the SMTP server settings. Click [Protocol] to check and change the settings. 6) Apply a check to On at SMTP (E-mail TX) in Send Protocols. 7) Select [E-mail Settings] at SMTP (E-mail TX) in Send Protocols. 4
8) Check and change the SMTP Server settings. 8-3) Execute the connection test after settings by pressing the [Test] button. 8-1) Register the server information. SMTP: On SMTP Server Name: Server name or IP address SMTP Port Number: 25 or 587 (Note1) 8-2) Set the login information. [Authentication Protocol] This setting is necessary for the user authentication before E-mail TX. (Note2) On: Set it when SMTP authentication is necessary. The user name and the password supplied from a provider are used in authentication. Authentication as should be Other. POP before SMTP: Set it when the authentication is executed by activating the E-mail reception before the E-mail transmission. [Authentication as] POP3 User: The user name and the password registered at POP3 menu are used. Other: The user name and the password input in the following line are used. When Authentication Protocol is On, select it. [User name / Password for Login] Input them when Other is selected as authentication. Note1: The settings should be matched to the user s E-mail environment. Almost all users use 587 as the SMTP Port Number. Note2: The settings should be matched to the user s E-mail environment. If the SMTP Port Number is 587, set the following value by referring to the following (e.g.) [Authentication ti ti Protocol]: On, [Authentication ti ti as]: Other [Login User Name / Login Password]: Input the user name and the password defined by a provider. (There are two cases to input the user name; the one is inputting the entire email address (e.g. xxxx@abc.ne.jp), and another is inputting the account name only (e.g. xxxx).) 5
8-5) Press the [Submit] button to decide the settings after this setup. 8-4) Set the E-mail Send Settings. E-mail Size Limit: The e-mail transmission is unavailable when the sending data size exceeds the setting value. If 0KB is set, it means no limitation. Sender Address: This is the sender address attached to the e-mail. Normally, the administrator s e- mail address or the company representative e-mail address is input. The e-mail address input at this setting appears on the e-mail software of the receiver. Signature: This is the information automatically attached to the main script on the sending email. 2. Address book settings Register E-mail addresses of the destinations. 1) Open the web browser such as Internet Explorer, etc. and input the IP address of the main unit in the address bar and press the [Enter] key. The Command Center RX is opened. 2) Click [Address Book] and [Machine Address Book], and then click [Add]. 3) Input the necessary contents of the following 1-3 and click [Submit]. 1 2 3 7

[Outlook Express 6] 1) Start up Outlook Express. 2) Select [Account (A)] in [Tool (T)] in the menu bar. 3) Click [Mail] tab in the [Internet account] windows. 4) Select the e-mail account and click [Property (P)]. 5) Check the contents at the [Server] tab and the [Details ] tab. [Windows Live mail (2009)] 1) Start up the Windows Live mail. 2) Select [Account (C)] in [Tool (T)] in the menu bar. Note: If the menu bar disappears, press the [Alt] key on the keyboard or click [Menu button] and [Menu bar appears] (Menu button). 3) Select the e-mail account and click [Property (P)]. 4) Check the contents at the [Server] tab and the [Details ] tab. 9

[Reference] How to check the IP address of the main unit (MFP) Check the Status Page 1) Press the [System Menu] key. 2) Select [Report] > [Next] on Print Report > [Print] on Status Page. Press [Yes]. 3) Check Network, IPv4 and IP Address on the output report. Check the System Menu 1) Press the [System Menu] key. 2) Select [System / Network] and input the login user name and the login password. Then press [OK]. Note: The following are the default login user names and passwords. Check the property of the printer driver 1) Open the printer property display of the printer driver. 2) Select the [Ports] tab. 3) Select the [Configure Port ]. 4) Check the IP address on Printer name or IP address. 12
[Windows7] 1) In [Start] > [Control panel] > [Network and Internet], click [View network status and tasks]. If they appear as icons, click [Network and Sharing Center]. 2) Click [Connection Local Area Connection]. Note: If connecting to the wireless network, click [Wireless Network Connection Status]. 3) Click [Details ] and then check the IPv4 Default Gateway and IPv4 DNS Servers on the Network Connection Details screen. 13
