In particular the user can: work on-line, configuring immediately a RDnet control 2 or control 8 based audio network work off-line, save a project, and recall the project in a second moment in live scenarios The AURORA NET philosophy creates a user-friendly graphic environment, in which the audio or control devices are ITEMS. The user can deeply configurate and control ITEMS and can receive real-time information about their status. The user can group ITEMS into GROUPS according to one or more logical or physical parameter. 4

Then the user can set up a network, see the recognized items and go online exporting his project in the real-world. Alternatively, the user can set his network with the existing devices, importing their parameters and working on them in real-time. The matching policy is illustrated in IDENTIFY, DISCOVERY, GO ONLINE chapter. To access on-line full features of your software you need to configure first your network. Please note that off-line and on-line visualizations could use different colors and that not all the presented features are available off-line. 27

3.1. SETTING YOUR NETWORK AURORA NET allows you to create and control an RDNET network in installation or live use. If you use one RDNET CONTROL 2 controller (USB connection) you can control up to 2 subnets of up to 32 items (speakers, line-array elements, subwoofers) each. If you use one RDNET CONTROL 8 controller (USB connection), you can control up to 8 subnets of up to 32 items (speakers, line-array elements, subwoofers) each. In this case, after a first USB configuration, you can also configure a more complex ETHERNET network. 28

A. USB connection: PLUG AND PLAY B. ETHERNET connection (CONTROL 8 only): B.1. Connect via USB your CONTROL 8 device. B.2. Double click on CONTROL 8 ITEM B.3. In the next window select "ETHERNET" page B.3.i STATIC IP case Choose one IP address in the field "Ip", and a different Ip number in the Network Properties page of your MAC or PC system (static IP options, in TCP/IPv4 protocol). MODALITY This window allows the user to see the main parameters which identify the network connection. LOG This window allows the user to see the log parameters and all the warnings of the devices of the created network. These warnings can be filtered for type. 30

IDENTIFY This function allows you to identify your RDNET CONTROL 2 / CONTROL 8 device. It turns on the related LEDs, so you can see it on its front panel. DISCOVERY The DISCOVERY function allows the user to recognize all the devices connected to the CONTROL 2 or CONTROL 8 which are used in the created network. GO ONLINE The GO ONLINE function allows the user to a real-time network dialogue with the devices connected to CONTROL 2 or CONTROL 8. It allows the user to send commands and configure devices. 4. ITEMS AND GROUPS PARAMETERS The parameters of the devices of a project can be deeply set by the user. Some of these parameters are read-only data (think for example to temperature data). Some of these can be chosen and changed in real-time by the software. They can also be viewed by the user at an ITEM level or at a GROUP level. 33

4.1. ITEMS PARAMETERS With a double-click on an ITEM, the user can access to all the parameters: MONITORING SECTION It is the main control window for ITEMs. It displays: input level output level info about the ITEM amplifier temperature MUTE/SOLO buttons frequency levels and controls (low-medium-high* MUTE/SOLO) 34

* where available PRESECT SECTION It is the window of applied filters to an ITEM. It displays: input level output level MUTE/SOLO buttons available FILTER options, depending on the device 35

EQ COMPARE BUTTONS As a "Compare" function, you can switch between A and B filter shape. For example if you keep the"b" shape flat (without filters) you can easily compare the sound with (A) or without (B) eq. for that group. MUTE/SOLO/POLARITY These buttons give to the user the ability to apply MUTE/SOLO or INVERT PHASE to an entire group. RESOURCE MONITOR Allows to monitor the delay and filter used resources out of the total. It depends on the most limited item used in a group and on the number of groups involved in that parameter. ADD FILTER BUTTON This button allows the user to add a filter. One Filter Control Window appears. REMOVE FILTER BUTTON This button allows the user to remove a selected filter. BYPASS ALL BUTTON This button allows the user to bypass all the filters immediately. RESET EQ BUTTON 41
