FOREWORD This document is intended for the users trying to access PDP for the first time. This document assumes that you have a PDP reservation that is ACTIVE in state. Please note that some reservation details may not be available until your Reservation is 'ACTIVE'. The installation instructions have been documented considering Windows as the OS on Local client. The steps hold good for a MAC OS or Linux machine as well. Where to get your PDP VPN and Reservation information like User ID, Password and IP Addresses 1. The VPN appliance s IP address, User ID and Initial password is available against the VPN Network Access section of My Program Access link, under the Programs tab of PDP web site:.launch the PDP web site: www.ibm.com/partnerworld/pdp Click on the Programs tab. Log in with your PartnerWorld user ID (IBM ID) and password. Look for VPN network access section and note the details related to VPN connection. The VPN and the password will be displayed as follows: Note: A button is provided to reset your VPN. 2. To obtain your PDP reserved system's IP address details, please use the following steps: On the same page as for VPN information, click on the Project name that you would like to work with. Click the Reservation number/ ID for each reservation within the project. The PDP reservation IP address, User IDs (u00xxxxxx & root) and Initial passwords are displayed. You may record your information on the Reserved System Login Information Form. Note: For ease of understanding, we have referred to the items on the Reserved System Login Information Form with the respective item numbers through out this document. Copyright IBM 2017 6 of 18

Establish VPN connection between your local client and PDP network Connectivity between your local client and PDP network is established using a VPN appliance. This involves 1.Installing VPN client 2. Configuring VPN client for establishing the connection. Please refer to the Appendix of this document for more information about VPN connectivity. I. How to install VPN Client In PDP, VPN connectivity is established using the browser based VPN appliance called Cisco Anytime Connect. Please refer to the following steps for installing VPN appliance (Of course for first time users). 1. Launch a browser and enter the url: https://pdpvpn.centers.ihost.com or https://32.97.185.40 and press Enter. 2. Provide the VPN username & password and Click on Login 3. Click on continue. 4. You may get a prompt to run add-on for ActiveX Controls. Please allow the add-ons and click on Run. Copyright IBM Corp 2017 7 of 18

5. Installation of VPN appliance will take place (first time users) and once the installation is completed, appliance will try to establish VPN connection. You would see following screens during installation. Note: Following window may show up during installation because firewall on your system may prompt you to allow vpndowloader.exe, vpnagent.exe and vpnui.exe files. Please allow ONLY these files and connection to this VPN server. Next, software would be downloaded and installed on your local machine. While connecting to VPN gateway you will see following screen. 6. You would see the following screen, once the connection is successfully established and an icon in system tray would also be visible: And an icon in system tray Note: Please refer to the next section, if you are encountering issues while installing VPN client. Encountering issues while installing VPN client: In case you are encountering security related issues while installing VPN client, please do the following: 1. You might notice that the connection is Untrusted. During this prompt, please click on Add Exception. 2. Confirm the Security exception Copyright IBM Corp 2017 9 of 18

3. Click on Continue 4. At this point, the VPN client would need to be installed manually. So you may continue with manual installation or download the.exe file and manually install the VPN client. Note: Click on Download once the button is active. 5. If you get a pop up window about security warning about Untrusted VPN Server Blocked, click on Change settings Copyright IBM Corp 2017 10 of 18

6. Uncheck the Block connections to untrusted servers Resulting in 7. On the next window, check the checkbox Always trust this VPN server and import the certificate and Click on Connect Anyway button Copyright IBM Corp 2017 11 of 18

II. Configure & Establish the VPN Connection 1. To establish or reconnect to the VPN gateway, click on the Cisco Anytime Connect icon in the system tray or launch it from All Programs. 2. Enter the host name as pdpvpn.centers.ihost.com and click on connect. Note: You may alternatively use the IP: 32.97.185.40 instead of pdpvpn.centers.ihost.com 3. If you are using a PDP VM, when prompted ensure you have '-PDP-PDC' selected in Group. Otherwise if you are using a DevOps VM, please ensure you have 'HWCICD' selected in Group. Enter the VPN username and Password details (possibly once again) and click Ok. Click on Accept Button in next window. 4. You will see the following window/ message near system tray which confirms establishing of VPN connection. Copyright IBM Corp 2017 12 of 18

Configuring PuTTy client to access AIX or Linux systems The following instructions explain how to connect to your PDP reserved system after you are connected to the PDP Network. Windows systems can use the PuTTY client, available at: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html See Appendix B for information on the installation and usage of PuTTY. Note: IBM does not make any recommendations about the use of this client. Please read the documentation and disclaimers that come with it. You can use PuTTY to connect to your PDP reserved system (Telnet is not enabled on AIX and Linux PDP systems) Start PuTTY. This example illustrates using PuTTY in Windows environment. Enter the IP address of your PDP reserved system in the Host Name (or IP address) and select SSH under Protocol. Press the Open button, and a new SSH session will open. Log in with your User ID and password. You may be prompted to change your password. Enter your OLD password first and then enter your NEW password twice. You have now successfully completed connection to your PDP reserved system. Copyright IBM Corp 2017 13 of 18

Connecting to IBM i Systems: Once VPN connection is established, you can access your i5/os system by using the 5250 emulator (recommended). The following describes how to use the tn5250 emulator. How to obtain a tn5250 emulator client: You can use the 5250 emulator from iseries Access or IBM Personal Communications. An additional site for the tn5250 client is: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=27533 IBM does not make any recommendations about the use of this client. Please read the documentation and disclaimers that come with it. How to connect to your PDP reserved system with the tn5250 emulator client: 1. Connect to the VPN as described in earlier steps. 2. Now, start your 5250 emulator client and enter the IP address of the PDP reserved system. 3. Enter your User ID and sign in with the User ID or QSECOFR and appropriate password. 4. You will be prompted to change your password during first time sign-on. Enter your OLD password first and then enter your NEW password twice. 5. You are now signed into your reserved PDP system and can proceed with exploring the system. Copyright IBM Corp 2017 15 of 18

Appendix A: How to Install and Run the PuTTY Client To obtain PuTTY, you can go to several sites. A suggestion to get PuTTY is to go to this site: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html Scroll down the page and find your operating system. Double click the PuTTY.exe file so you can download the program. A Save File Dialog will pop up. Choose the Option to Save the File. Pick a location to save your file, such as C:\temp. Run PuTTY by first locating the PuTTY.exe file and double clicking on the PuTTY.exe file to run the program. The PuTTY Dialog box will pop up. Copyright IBM Corp 2014 16 of 18

Under Saved Sessions, Select Default Settings, then click on the Load button. Now Under the Category list on the Left hand side, select SSH. You will see this dialog box, under Preferred SSH Protocol Version, Select 2. Under the category dialog box on the left hand side, select Session. Now select SSH under the protocol session. Select default setting under Saved sessions and click the save button. You now have saved the settings that you have just configured so by default you will use SSH protocol 2 when you use PuTTY. Appendix B: What is a virtual private network (VPN)? A virtual private network (VPN) is private network that uses a public network, such as the Internet, to create a secure private connection through a private tunnel. A VPN uses a virtual connection that is routed from a company's private network through the internet to a remote system or site. The VPN connection creates a secure connection between the user's machine and the remote network giving that user local access to the remote site. The user can then have access to the remote company's network as if they were locally connected to that company's network. My Computer Internet VPN VPN Concentrator 198.81.193.16......
