GLOBAL China Telecom Global Newsletter April 206 Newly Expanded Capacity of TPE Poised to Capture Surging Demand Across the Pacific The Trans-Pacific Express (TPE) has been the premium choice of low latency network transmission system across the Pacific, directly connecting China and the U.S. since it first launched in 2008. We are now pleased to announce that the 204 upgrade of TPE cable network has passed PNA (Provisional Network Acceptance) on 8 April 206 and it is ready for service. Adopting the 00Gb/s DWDM technology, the new design capacity in trans-pacific and inter-asia segment has now been increased to 9.6Tb/s and 7.2Tb/s respectively. Accordingly, China Telecom is pleased to announce the reception of 0x and 4x00Gb/s bandwidth in trans-pacific and inter-asia segment respectively (details as below). The completion of the recent expansion project will essentially upgrade the TPE capacity from China to the U.S. It will continue to deliver low latency network between the regions to accommodate larger business needs, while also addressing the high volume demand among Asian markets.
