Use this adaptor to power-up the MCU-9000 for bench testing or re-programming. If MCU is set for 240 VAC operation, jumpers will need to be changed to 120 VAC settings during bench powering. 7 14 12 120 VAC Outlet USE CAUTION! 1 8 MOLEX 39-01-2140 w/ 44476-1112 FML pins (Looking at rear of connector) Figure 8 - MCU9000 Connections for 120 VAC Bench Test Powering P a g e 9
This adaptor is used to program the MCU-9000 assembly from an RS232 computer port. And RS232-to-USB adaptor may also be required if the computer is not equipped with an RS232 DB-9 serial port. P a g e 15 MCU-9000 Wiegand (HID) Connections Wiegand format card or token readers connect to the MCU-9000 using four wires. Two provide power for the reader and two are data connections. Readers may have numerous additional wires, but none of these are used at this time. These extra wires should be tied-off so that they cannot short-circuit to ground or the other wires. See the Cables and Harnesses document for more details. P a g e 17 MCU-9000 Keri NXT Series RS495 Reader Hook-Up Keri brand card readers in the NXT series use RS495 instead of Wiegand to communicate. When we use a Keri NXT reader, we wire it to unique terminals in the MCU9000 and use MPIC firmware that supports it. P a g e 19 MCU-9000 Rotary Encoder Pulser Hook-Up Encoder-to-MCU Colors: Red -> Yellow (+5V) Green -> Brown (Ground) Orange -> Red (Signal) Yellow -> No Connect Electrical Installation: Disconnect and remove the old pulser assembly. Cap-off any old power wires that ran to the old pulser amplifier. The RED and BROWN wires connect to the same colored wires coming from the MCU in the wiring harness. These used to go to the old pulser amplifier. The YELLOW wire has to be run up to the MCU and connected to the 4-terminal connector on the back of the MCU assembly. BROWN RED YELLOW Yellow wire into 2 nd terminal New yellow wire running from the pulser up into to the MCU housing GROUND (BROWN) PULSER (RED) These wires are in the existing MCU harness assembly already installed Plugs onto rear of MCU Mechanical Installation: The pulser shaft connects to the once-around-per-gallon shaft on the pump register assembly. Make sure the shaft and the coupler are free to rotate 360 degrees, and the pulser case is tied so that it will not rotate. The MCU must be set for 128 pulses-per-gallon using the setup key.
