Function 5 - How to insert own image as bullet point. pg.8 Function 1 How to Insert an Image There are two ways to insert an image: a.) From clip art and b.) From your Files A.) From Clip art: 1. First, click on the Insert tab and click Clip Art. 2. Next, a clip art box will appear on the right side of your Word document. Be sure to use the search bar to search for the image you are interested in placing in your document. 2
3. After you have found your image, hover over the clipart you like which will show a drop down menu, click and click Insert to insert your clipart to the document. 4. Click the image and go to the Format tab to fix your image size, shape, and add border to the image. Click the image and drag and drop the image to the location you want on the document. B.) From your Files: 1. Click on the Insert Tab. Then click Picture. 2. A window will pop up enabling you to select a saved image from your computer. Locate the image and click insert. 3
3. Follow steps 3-4 from the previous Function to edit the picture. 4. Finally, your document should have the images placed and formatted to your satisfaction. Function 2 How to Insert Word Art 4
1. Click the Word Art button under the Insert Tab. 2. Select the design that best fits your document. 3. A window will pop up letting you enter your words and select the size and font you desire. 4. After you input your words and click ok, your WordArt will come up on your document. Click and drag the WordArt to where you see fit. Click the WordArt, which will take you to the Format tab on the top. You can change the color, texture, style, size and add effects to your WordArt. Function 3 How to insert a Border 5
1. Click the Page Layout Tab. Click the Page Borders options to select a Border for your document. 2. Select the Border style, length and width for your document. 3. To select a more colorful border with images and designs, click the drop down menu under Art and select the design that suits your document. Click ok when completed. 6
Function 4 How to use Format Painter Format Painter allows one to apply text formatting and some basic graphics formatting such as borders and fills. Primarily, it is very convenient if you want to copy the formatting of certain text throughout your document. 1. First, locate the Format Painter option under the Home tab. In your document, if you have typed a series of words and formatted only one of the lines. You can use Format Painter to format the rest like the text that you just edited. For 7
example, below is a screen capture of the first line of my list of text that I have formatted. I would want the rest of my list to look like Resume typed in the screen capture above. 2. Therefore, highlight the Resume, or line that has your desired formatted text. 3. Click the Format Painter option under the Home tab. 4. Highlight the text that you want formatted. The texts chosen will change and automatically be formatted. 8
Function 5 How to insert own image as bullet point 1. Click the bullet point image from the Home tab. 2. The Define New Bullet window will pop up. Click the Picture button. 3. To choose your own image, click Import and choose the image to add as a bullet point. Click ok. 9
