FLX UC 1000/1500 Registering with Cisco Unified Communications Manager The purpose of this document is to describe how to register a Revolabs FLX UC 1000/1500 conference phone with a Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) manually. This document presumes the user has working knowledge of the CUCM and the FLX UC web UI. This document also presumes the user has administrator level access to the CUCM and FLX UC web UI. This document is based on CUCM version 9.5 1. Log in to your CUCM:

2. Create a directory number. From the CUCM Administration page move your mouse over the Call Routing drop down

From Call Routing select Directory Number

This takes you to the Find and List Directory Numbers screen

Click Add New This takes you to the Directory Number Configuration screen From the Directory Number Configuration Page enter the phone number you will use for your UC 1000/1500 phone.

NOTE: These instructions show only the MINIMUM configuration to get the CUCM to work with the UC 1xxx. All fields on the CUCM marked with an asterisk are required. '8689' is only used as an example number Scroll down on the web page and make sure Directory Number Settings match the screenshot below. Scroll down more and match your AAR Settings to this screenshot below.

Continue scrolling until you get to Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings. Make sure that you match the below checkboxes.

Make sure Park Monitoring, MLPP Alternate Party Settings and Line Settings for All Devices match the picture below. Click Save. You may see a Loading, please wait message.

3. Add a User From the Main Menu choose the User Management and select End User On the Find and List Users page, click Add New

In this example the User ID is the same as the Directory Number created in the previous step. The User ID and Password that you specify here will be used when you register the FLX UC Device *NOTE* Required fields are marked with an asterisk. You can use the default values as shown in the screenshots below. Leave these as default unless specified by your admin.

*NOTE* Profiles shown in User Profile differ per deployment. This is only an example page.

Click Save when done: After clicking save you will now be able to add your user to groups and assign roles. Stay on the End User Configuration Screen and scroll down to Permissions Information

Click Add to Access Control Group *note* Depending on your version of CUCM you may see Add to User Group instead of Add to Access Control Group This should create a pop up window called Find and List Access Control Groups or Find and List User Groups depending on your version of CUCM Click the Find button

Click the checkbox for Standard CCM End Users

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Add Selected

From the End User Configuration screen click Save. This will add the corresponding roles. 4. Add a Phone Device From the main menu choose the Device menu and select phone from the drop down

Click Add New from the Find and List Phones page Select the Phone Type radio button. Set the drop down to Third-party SIP Device (Basic) Click Next

(**note**) You will need the MAC address of you FLX in order to proceed Using the FLX handset, choose Menu, then select the System Info icon (the large i in the center). Select Bluetooth Info, then Bluetooth Status. The MAC address is the Base BDA number, which is a 12-digit hex number Enter your MAC address and a Unique name to the description. CUCM adds SEP to the MAC Address in the description field. Owner User ID should be the number you will use for the RevoLabs phone. Match up the rest of the fields as shown below

Specify the Digest User. The Digest User should be the same as the User ID that you specified when creating a new End User in the previous step. Click Save. You may see a pop-up indicating that you should click the Apply Config button for the changes to take effect.

On the left side of the page, you will see that your device has not been associated with a directory number Click Line [1] Add a new DN link to go to the Directory Number Configuration screen Enter the Directory Number that was specified in step 2 as shown below and click Save.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Associate End Users Use the search criteria of User ID begins with and enter the number of your phone. Click find. Select your endpoint and click Add Selected Click Save and then click Apply Config

You will see a popup window notifying you that the device may restart. Click ok. The Associated Devices now appear on the Directory Number configuration page Click back on your browser to the Phone Configuration screen **note** If hitting the back button goes to a screen where you need to reload then search from the device menu.

Select Phone from the device menu. Set your search to criteria to Directory Number and contains. Enter your directory number in the search field and click find. Your device is now associated

From the User Management Menu, select End User Search for your endpoint using the below search criteria. Select your endpoint Scroll down to Device Information within the End User Configuration screen

Click Device Association On the User Device Association page, locate the phone that you added by its MAC address or Directory Number. Click the checkbox for that device, then click Save Selected/Changes

This concludes the CUCM portion of the document. 5. Configuring the FLX UC 1000/1500 phone In a web browser, enter the IP address of the FLX phone. This will open the web interface for FLX UC 1000. Enter the administrator password (default password is 7386 ).

On the top of the screen select the Gears icon for Settings, and then select the SIP sub-header. Enter the Registrar info for your CUCM. The Registrar is the IP address of the CUCM. This can be found in the URL of the CUCM you just configured.

Enter your phone credentials. These were set in the CUCM earlier and need to match on the FLX. Press Submit If registration is successful, the dialer will show the user ID at the top of the home screen. If there is a registration failure, the dialer will show that the phone is not registered. Verify that the user ID and password are the same as the ones specified when configuring the CUCM. Confirm in the CUCM that the device was correctly set up and associated with the user.

6. Configuring the FLX2 phone In a web browser, enter the IP address of the FLX phone. This will open the web interface for FLX2. Enter the administrator password (default password is 7386 ). Click on the Administrator link

Click Sip Registration on the Administrator Menu Enter the Registrar info for your CUCM. The Registrar is the IP address of the CUCM

Enter your phone credentials. These were set in the CUCM earlier and need to match on the FLX Click Save and then restart the phone to implement your changes If registration is successful, the dialer will show the user ID at the top of the home screen. If there is a registration failure, the dialer will show that the phone is not registered. Verify that the user ID and password are the same as the ones specified when configuring the CUCM. Confirm in the CUCM that the device was correctly set up and associated with the user.
