ApplyTexas Directions www.applytexas.org Click on Create a new account now. Please Note: You ONLY need to complete information that says REQUIRED (in red). STEP 1: Create your account information (profile) PLEASE NOTE: Email address: use a NON-NISD email address, a personal one that you use frequently. If you don t have a personal one, then you can use your NISD email address. Password suggestion: use your 4x4 one less thing to remember, and it meets the criteria. Be sure to click on I m not a robot at the bottom. Click SAVE PROFILE You may be asked to VERIFY your address. If so, click on the box to verify and continue. You will now be asked to verify the email address you entered in your profile, since this email address will be your ApplyTexas username. Open a new internet tab, open your email, and verify your email address by clicking the link provided. Now, login to ApplyTexas using your email address and the password you created. *RECORD your login information in your phone or somewhere else for future reference* STEP 2: Create your application: 1. Click Create a new application now 2. Scroll down and click create a new 2 year college admission application 2
Go to Search for a college from alphabetical list. 3. For Target college: use the second drop down menu to select Northwest Vista College (San Antonio) 4. Click continue 5. For semester of entry, select Fall (Aug Dec) 2018 from the drop down menu. 6. Deadline: select regular deadline 7. Click continue 8. For First Choice School, select one that aligns with your high school endorsement. 9. Click continue Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Business and Entrepreneurship Creative and Communication Arts Health and Biosciences Public Service Science and Technology 10. For Major, you must select Dual Credit, AA 11. Click continue, AA 12. Click continue to my application 3
PAGE 1 of 5: Biographical Information 1. The only thing that you NEED to complete on this page is your social security number (no spaces, dashes, or letters). 2. Verify everything else is correct, and click save changes 3. You may need to verify some information now; do so by clicking the small boxes and then click save page. PAGE 2 of 5: Educational Background 1. Click Find your High School 2. Type Brandeis High School, then click Submit 3. Choose the correct school by clicking on the circle 4. For question #3b, I ve explained the choices, since they can be confusing. Do your parents live in Texas because they are going to college? PLEASE NOTE: Question 3b: If you choose anything other than Establish/Maintain a home, you will be coded out of district or out of state and will have to provide additional residency documentation. Question 3a: If you enter any number below 12 months, you will be coded out of district or out of state and will have to provide additional residency documentation. 3. Question 7 incorrectly references questions (8) or (9). The true reference questions are (5) or (6). 4. Now, you must PRINT the first page of your application and SUBMIT it to Ms. Kollmann. 1. At the top, click My Account Dashboard 2. Click on View on the right side of the screen 3. CTRL + P to print; just print PAGE 1. YOUR APPLICATION IS NOW COMPLETE. BELOW ARE THE DIRECTIONS ON YOUR NEXT STEP: ACES MODULES. OBTAINING YOUR BANNER ID, ACES USERNAME, & PASSWORD Wait about five days, then go to www.alamo.edu and click on Login to ACES. Click on Get my Banner ID Number. Enter your last name and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Your Banner ID will serve as your verification that your application processed & allow you to test with Alamo Colleges. Record your Banner ID for reference. This is your COLLEGE ID #. Go back to the ACES home page. Click on Get my ACES User Name. Enter your last name and the last 4 digits of your social security number. For default password Use the first two letters of your last name capitalized, then your 6-digit birthday (mm/dd/yy). *example: John Smith, born January 14, 1999 SM011499 Banner ID: ACES Username: Default ACES PW: New ACES PW: 7
DIRECTIONS: Go FAARR and Test Prep Modules STEP 1: Login to ACES (https://alamoaces.alamo.edu/web/home-community) STEP 2: Click on Start Here at the top left. STEP 3: Click on the blue Enroll buttons next to the Go FAARR and Test Prep modules. This simply enrolls you. You will then see Incomplete in its place and will have to click on that to begin the modules. This is on your home page (middle, towards the bottom) it explains your steps as well. 8
STEP 4: Click on Incomplete next to the Go FAARR module to begin. You will take a 10 question quiz at the end and will need to score at least 6/10 to pass. STEP 5: Click on Incomplete next to the Test Prep module to begin. You will take a 10 question quiz at the end and will need to score at least 6/10 to pass. STEP 6: VERY IMPORTANT!! PRINT the home page that shows the GREEN CHECKS next to both modules. You are to SUBMIT this page to Ms. Kollmann as verification that you have completed both modules. You will not be allowed to take the TSI until Ms. Kollmann has this from you. 9
