Important Notice Before using the unit, please read this user manual carefully and test all functions thoroughly by following the instructions in this manual. This product is designed for a working voltage of 6V only. Any attempt to input a larger voltage will result in irreversible damages which are not covered by warranty. To maximize the lifespan of the battery and to conserve energy, please keep the unit in the lock position when not in use. Keep the unit from forceful impacts. Do not submerge unit into water. If the Smart-Box has been left idle for a long period of time (with or without the batteries), please re-program the unit before use. Smart-Box should be used/operated in an upright position for optimum weatherability. All rubber sealed parts must be kept completely shut to keep Smart-Box in a weather resistant condition. Always keep the interior of Smart-Box completely dry. Before closing the unit, clean up any form of moisture accumulated inside the vault while Smart-Box was opened.

Introduction Thank you for purchasing the NuSet Smart-Box Series electronic lockbox. To get your lockbox ready, please read this manual thoroughly. Each set of fresh battery can standby for up to 200 days. If the batteries completely die or the lockbox cannot open using valid access code, it will require an external power source to unlock. Locate the power inlet at the bottom of the lockbox, plug in the battery pre-loaded battery holder (sold separately) and turn on the ON/OFF switch to power up. Sliding Lever Lock Battery powered lever lock. Slide up to lock and slide down to unlock LED Indicator 3 different color LEDs represent lockbox working status. Red LED means access denied or errors occurred. Orange LED means lockbox is busy processing data. Green LED means access granted or process completed. Keypad 12-Button keypad used to enter access codes and passwords. External Power Inlet Allow an external power source if internal batteries die. Resettable Shackle Combination A hidden lock for resetting shackle combination Battery Compartment A battery holder for 4x AA batteries. USB Port Allow an USB device to program lockbox or to download access log from memory. Mounting Holes (7050 Model Only) Allow screws to pass through and to mount the lockbox. Software Interface Lockbox Password Manager ❶ Update date & time to lockbox When checked, date and time information will be pulled from your computer and transferred onto the USB device when the [PROGRAM] button is pressed. This information will then be uploaded along with the PINs when you program the lockbox with the USB device. You will need to program the lockbox immediately in order to program the correct time onto the lock box. ❷ Delete PIN after update Check this box to have the PINs automatically removed from the USB device as soon as they are uploaded to the lockbox. ❸ Program Press the [PROGRAM] button to transfer PINs and changed passwords from your computer to the USB device. ❹ Download Log Download access logs from USB device to your computer ❺ # of PIN Enter the number of PINs to generate. Lockbox manager may create up to 500 codes. ❻ PIN length (4 to 6 digits) Enter the number of digits for the PINs (from 4 to 6) ❼ Duration (hour) Assign access time limit to each PIN. "0" stands for unlimited access. "1" means the PIN will be valid for 1 hour after its initial use. NuSet Smart-Box Series Lockbox User Guide 8

❽ Generate PIN Click this button to generate PINs based on your setting ❾ Clear PIN Delete all PINs generated ❿ Master password The master password has unlimited access to the lockbox. This password will work even if all PINs expired. It must be 8 digits. ⓫ Program password This password enables users to upload PINs and date/time information from the USB device to the lockbox. This code must be 8 digits. ⓬ Report password This password enables users to download access logs from the lockbox to the USB device. This code must be 8 digits. ⓭ Save Press the [SAVE] button to save a copy of generated PINs onto your computer. ⓮ Open Open previously generated PIN files ⓯ Print Print generated PINs For security reason, users are strongly encouraged to change the Master password before using the lockbox. Remember to save a copy of your PINs and passwords on your computer before exiting Lockbox Manager. NuSet Smart-Box Series Lockbox User Guide 9

Setting Up Smart-Box Installing Batteries ➊ Unpack the lockbox package and its components. ➋ The lockbox is shipped unlocked. Simply slide down the gold lever to open the vault. ➌ Unlock and remove the battery compartment cover by sliding the black lever to the right. ➍ Install 4x AA-battery included. The bottom (-) side of the battery should sit on the spring. ➎ Once the batteries are installed, all 3 color LED will flash once along with a long beep. ➏ Replace and lock the battery compartment cover by sliding the black lever to the left. Refer to the software session on how to setup the owner passwords and to define the user access codes. Locking & Unlocking Shackle (7000 Model Only) ➊ To unlock the shackle, simply roll the dials to the last preset combination and lift the shackle to unlock/open it. ➋ To lock, simply push the shackle down into locked position and scramble the dials on top of the vault to lock shackle. Changing Shackle Combination (7000 Model Only) Reset Hole ➊ Lift and swing the top vinyl cover to the right of the shackle. Reset Tool ➋ Roll the dials to the last combination set. ➌ Insert the included "Reset Tool" into the hidden hole located inside the vault under the shackle lock. ➍ Insert the reset tool so that the tail points to a "3 o'clock" position. Turn the tool counterclockwise until the tail points to a 10 o'clock position. (i.e. make a 75 turn counterclockwise.) ➎ Roll the dials one at a time to set a new 4-number shackle combination. ➏ Turn the reset tool back to the starting position and remove it from the lock. The factory preset shackle combination is '0000'. Record the new shackle combination to prevent lost of the new combination. Mounting Wall-Mount Lockbox (7050 Model Only) ➊ Remove the Smart-Box from packaging. ➋ Position the Smart-Box on desired surface area. ➌ Use the level to verify that Smart-Box is in a vertical position and mark the screw holes on surface. ➍ Remove the Smart-Box and drill holes. Use a hammer to install anchors if necessary. ➎ Position the Smart-Box over drilled holes and tighten all screws. ➏ Secure vault by sliding up the gold lever to the lock position. Setting Up Lockbox Manager Do not plug in the USB device before installing the software. Always run installation as a member of Administration group. Installing Software ➊ Run the setup file located inside the CD to begin installation. Filenames may differ depending on the OS: Windows XP: LockBoxManager_XP_SetUp.exe Vista/7 (32-bit): LockBoxManager_Vista&Win7x86_Setup.exe Vista/7 (64-bit): LockBoxManager_Vista&Win7x64_Setup.exe in x64 folder Run LockBoxManager_Vista&Win7x86_Setup.exe if you are not sure. ➋ Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation. Click [Next]. Click [Install] to install the software to default directory. NuSet Smart-Box Series Lockbox User Guide 11

➌ Insert the USB device once the software installation is completed. Click [Finish] to exit. Uncheck "Run LockBox Manager" to exit the installation program without running the Lockbox Password Manger. Installing USB Device Driver (XP) The XP driver should have copied to Windows directly during installation. When the USB device is inserted into a computer running XP for the 1st time, you may be prompted to install the driver manually. ➊ Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation. Select "No, not this time" and click [NEXT] to stop the online search. NuSet Smart-Box Series Lockbox User Guide 12

➋ Instruct Windows to install the driver from a specific location, then click [NEXT]. ➌ Insert the installation CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive and check "Search removable media " option before clicking [NEXT]. ➍ The files should begin to transfer to Windows. ➎ The following screen will be shown upon successful installation. Installing USB Device Driver (Vista/7) When the USB device is inserted into a computer running Windows Vista or Windows 7 for the 1st time, the driver needs to be installed manually. ➊ Click on [Start Icon], then right click [Computer] and the select [Properties]. ➋ Click Device Manager on the left menu and right-click LockBox under Other devices and click [Update Device Software ] to install the driver software. ➌ Insert the installation CD into the CD/DVD-ROM and select the 2nd option, "Browse my computer " to browse. ➍ Click [BROWSE] to open the "Browse for Folder" window. Select the appropriate CD/DVD- ROM drive and click [OK] to close. Then, click [NEXT] to confirm the location. ➎ Agree to install the driver software anyway when warned. ❻ The following screen will be shown upon successful installation. Click [Close] to exit. Operating Smart-Box Locking & Unlocking Lockbox ➊ Punch in the user access code or password using the keypad followed by the [Enter] button. ➋ If correctly entered, the green LED will flash once along with a long beep. If the password or access code is incorrect, the RED LED will flash once with 3 short beep. ➌ Open the vault within 8 seconds by sliding the gold lever down. The vault will be locked automatically after 8 seconds. ➍ To lock, simply slide the gold lever up. The green LED will flash once with a long beep. SAMPLE Objective: Gain access to lockbox using master password, 11111111 Enter + Programming PIN to Lockbox ➊ Plug in the owner-programmed USB device inside the USB inlet located inside the lockbox battery compartment. ➋ Punch in the last 8-digit Program Password followed by the [Enter] button. If the password or access code is incorrect, the red LED will flash once instantly along with 3 short beep. ➌ After 5 seconds, the orange LED will begin flashing and process the upload. If program data is not found in the USB device, the process will be aborted and the red LED will flash once along with 3 short beep. Refer to the software session on how to program multiple lockboxes using the same USB device. ➍ Once the transfer is successfully completed, the green LED will flash once with a long beep. SAMPLE The 8-digit manufacturer master password is preset to '11111111'. Refer to the "Changing Owner Password" section to reset a new Master Password. If the lockbox cannot be opened using the correct access code, press [*] & [Enter] buttons at the same time to restart the lockbox. Existing data will not be lost. Downloading Access Log to USB Device ➊ Plug in the owner-programmed USB device inside the USB inlet located inside the lockbox battery compartment. ➋ Punch in the last 8-digit Report Password followed by the [Enter] button. If the password or access code is incorrect, the red LED will flash once instantly along with 3 fast beep. ➌ After 5 seconds, the orange LED will begin flashing and process the download. The overall process may take up to 1 minute to complete. ➍ Once download is successfully completed, the green LED will flash once with a long beep. Refer to the software session on how to retrieve and read the Access Log. SAMPLE Objective: Download access log to USB device using Report Password, 33333333. Enter + The 8-digit manufacturer report password is preset to '33333333'. Refer to the "Changing Owner Password" section to reset a new Report Password. Using Lockbox Password Manager Before using the software, the USB device must be plugged into your computer. If "USB Not Found" still pops up, please refer to the driver installation session for help. Changing Owner Password To change a password, simply overwrite the existing password by entering the new number in the appropriate box. Master password has unlimited access to the lockbox. This password will work even if all PINs expired. This code must be 8 digits. The default master password is '11111111'. Program password enables users to upload PINs and date/time information from the USB device to the lockbox. This code must be 8 digits. The default program password is '22222222'. Report password enables users to download access logs from the lockbox to the USB device. This code must be 8 digits. The default report password is '33333333'. For security reason, users are strongly encouraged to change the Master password before using the lockbox. Remember to save a copy of your PINs and passwords on your computer before exiting Lockbox Manager. Setting Up Access Code (PIN) ➊ Generating PIN a. Enter # of PINs to be generated. Lockbox Manager may create up to 500 codes. b. Enter the number of digits for the PINs (from 4 to 6). c. Assign access time limit to the PINs. "0" is for unlimited access. "1" means the PIN will be valid for 1 hour after its initial use. d. Click the [GENERATE PIN] button to generate PINs based on your setting. e. Transferring PIN to USB Device ➊ Selecting Options Before pressing the [PROGRAM] button, select the options that best suit your needs. Update date & time to lockbox If checked, date and time information will be pulled from your computer and transferred onto the USB device when the [PROGRAM] button is pressed. This information will then be uploaded along with the PINs when you program the lockbox with the USB device. You will need to program the lockbox immediately in order to program the correct time onto the lock box. Delete PIN after update Check this box to have the PINs automatically removed from the USB device as soon as they are uploaded to the lockbox. To program multiple lockboxes, leave this box unchecked. ➋ Transferring/Programming PIN Press the [PROGRAM] button to save any changes to the USB. Printing PIN SAMPLE Retrieving and Reading Access Log ➊ Downloading Log Assume access data has been downloaded from the lockbox, hit the [Download Log] button. ➋ Saving Log After 10 seconds, a window will pop up and prompt you to save the log file. ➌ Reading Log Locate the log file saved, double click to open. Warranty Information Patent Notice Nuset products and those of its subsidiary companies and licensees may be covered by both issued and pending U.S. and foreign patents, copyrights and trademarks. 1-Year limited warranty Subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty, Nuset extends a one-year limited warranty to the original consumer user ( Original User ) of our Nuset brand product ( Product ) against defects in material and workmanship from the date of shipment. What Nuset will do: Upon return of the defective Product to Nuset, Nuset s sole obligation, at its option, is to either repair or replace the Product. In case of replacement, Nuset may replace the Product with another model that is similar in value and appearance at its option. Original User: This warranty only applies to the Original User of Products. This warranty is not transferable. Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims. What is not covered: The following costs, expenses and damages are not covered by the provisions of this limited Warranty: (i) labor costs including, but not limited to, such costs as the removal and reinstallation of Product; (in) shipping and freight expenses required to return Product to Nuset; and (iii) any other incidental, consequential, indirect, special and/or punitive damages, whether based on contract, warranty, tort (including, but not limited to, strict liability or negligence), patent infringement, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The provisions of this warranty do not apply to Products: (i) used for purposes for which they are not designed or intended; (ii) which have been subjected to alteration, abuse, misuse, negligence or accident; (iii) which have been improperly stored, installed, maintained or operated; (iv) which have been used in violation of written instructions provided by Nuset; (v) which have been subjected to improper temperature, humidity or other environmental conditions; or (vi) which, based on Nuset s examination, do not disclose to Nuset s satisfaction nonconformance to the warranty.
