SafeNet Authentication Client (Mac) ReadMe 2 2. Licensing The use of this product is subject to the terms and conditions as stated in the End User License Agreement. 3. Default Password All Tokens are shipped from our factory with a default password (PIN) 1234567890. The end user must enter this default password when logging on to Token for the first time and then change it to a secure personal password. 4. Supported Platforms SafeNet Authentication Client (Mac) 8.0 supports Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) on both Intel 32-bit and Intel 64-bit platforms. Note: Mac Power PC is not supported in this release. 5. New Features The following features were introduced in SafeNet Authentication Client 8.0 (Mac): User Interface is branded with SafeNet Branding Support for 64-bit Intel platform Support for etoken NG Flash 4.5, etoken NG Flash 4.5 and etoken NG Flash 5.3 Anywhere (in VSR mode) authnticators 6. Limitations 20395 etoken PKI (Mac) 5.0 does not support smart card logon using etoken Virtual. 14520 When etoken Properties is run with a non-administrator password, as expected, the administrator-only options in the etoken Initialization Parameters window (Advanced>Initialize etoken>advanced) are not enabled. If changes are now made (to the enabled options), the changes are not saved. etoken Properties must be run with administrator privileges to enable any of the token settings to be changed.

Resolved Issues DEFECT ID # MKS ID# Description 21604 79421 Support initialization of FIPS tokens with 2048 bit keys. 20872 79424 It is possible to install etoken PKI Client (Mac) 5.0 on Mac Power PC, even though Mac Power PC is not supported in this release. 20491 79430 There is an ability to open Change Password window in multiple ways at the same time. 8. Known Issues 14408 Sometimes, after rebooting the computer, the etoken PKI Client Tray Icon does not respond. In the Mac OS X Activity Monitor (located at /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor) end the PKIMonitor process with the higher Process ID (PID). The process restarts and the PKI Client Tray Icon appears. 14409 14476 If an attempt is made to close the operating system while etoken Properties is running, the shutdown process halts. This is a known Qt issue. After inserting a token that displays a password expiration warning and then clicking on "Please click here to change your password" the Change Password window fails to open. Close etoken Properties before closing the operating system. Select Change Password in the etoken PKI Tray menu. 14478 It is not possible to open the etoken PKI Client Tray Menu by right-clicking on the etoken PKI Client Tray Icon. Open the etoken PKI Client Tray Menu by clicking on the etoken PKI Client Tray Icon with the left mouse button. 14506 After connecting an etoken Virtual, clicking the tray icon and selecting Generate OTP, the Generate OTP window is not the active window and may be hidden by another window. Move the window that is obstructing the Generate OTP window.
SafeNet Authentication Client (Mac) ReadMe 4 14653 If an attached etoken is moved to a different USB slot on the computer, etoken PKI Client may stop 14673 If two etokens are attached to the computer and an attempt is made to switch between the etokens on the etoken PKI Client Tray Menu, the etoken PKI Client Tray Menu may stop 20186 After inserting an etoken, opening the Mac Keychain and selecting Lock all keychains, it is not possible to log on to the Keychain again. 20242 If an etoken is inserted and removed quickly, when it is inserted again it is not recognized by etoken PKI Client. 20244 After installing etoken PKI Client (Mac), the tray icon might fail to run. 20265 etoken might not be recognized and etoken Properties may fail to open after performing one of the following actions: rebooting Mac OS X, awakening the computer from sleep mode or logging on. This is caused by an error in the PCSCD process. 20272 Sometimes, when opening an encrypted mail message in the Mac OS X Mail application for the first time, the Mail application stops Re-boot the computer. In the Mac OS X Activity Monitor (located at /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor) end the PKIMonitor process with the higher Process ID (PID). The process restarts and the PKI Client Tray Icon should now function correctly. Re-insert the etoken. Re-insert the etoken one more time. This time it is recognized by etoken PKI Client. Start the etoken PKI (Mac) tray icon (monitor) manually from the applications folder. Reboot the computer. Reopen The Mail application.
SafeNet Authentication Client (Mac) ReadMe 5 20367 Installing etoken PKI Client (Mac) does not install the security module in Firefox 20393 It is not possible to close etoken Properties by right clicking on the dock icon and selecting Quit. 20428 If the computer is in sleep mode and is then awoken by inserting an etoken, the etoken is not recognized. Install the security module in Firefox manually. See etoken PKI Client (Mac) 5.0 Administrator s Guide for more details. To close etoken Properties, click on the close button(x) on the etoken Properties window. Restart the computer.
