What s New In the Salesforce Winter 15 Release
Salesforce1 Quick Start Wizard allows you to setup the app in five easy steps
Step 1: Setup Navigation Step 2: Setup Action Bar Step 3: Setup Compact Layout
Step 4: Review Setup
Step 5: Send Invites
For ease of use, the setup window also allows you to access your security and app customizations in one place. Sections are logically grouped with explanatory tool tips.
The new action bar consolidates many actions to one easy to use bar at the bottom of the application. Only actions relevant to where the user is in the app will be visible. The actions and the order they appear are completely customizable in the Salesforce1 Setup page.
Swiping left on any record in a list will reveal custom quick actions the user can take action on without having to navigate into the record itself. Clicking the ellipsis will show a full list of actions available for that record.
Quickly create custom filters Filter by date fields Filter by text fields Filter by number fields
Global search icon has been added to the header for easier accessibility. Upon the global search icon being tapped, it expands out the header to allow the user to search for information without having to go to the navigation menu.
As the user keys in a search term the quick results populates similar records that have been recently accessed. After three characters the quick results expands to include records not recently accessed by the user.
Today Can now see your schedule, tasks, breaking news, weather, and even how you are doing on quota all in one place
Similar to the functionality in the tabular and summary reports, users can now tap a dashboard component to see a matrix report.
All reports types (tabular, summary, and matrix) now contain a floating header and can now see up to 2000 report rows.
Tapping on a section of the chart filters by that value. Simply click the filter button to see which filters are applied
Data.com Duplicate Management allows you to control whether you allow both desktop and Salesforce1 users to create duplicate records. Customize the logic that is used to identify duplicates and determine what to do with those identified: Allow Report Action Alert Block Allow works as it does not. It simply allows the user to create duplicates.
When set to report action, users are allowed to save potential duplicates. The records are flagged in Duplicate Record Set. So custom reports and list views can be used to view the records.
If set to alert on duplicate, when a possible duplicate is found, it notifies the user and gives them possible matches already in the Salesforce system. Users are allowed to create the new record.
If set to block duplicates, the system will again alert the user to possible matches, but the user will not be able to create the record.
Add custom lookup fields on Activities instead of having to use the Related to Who/What fields in all instances. This will allow you to relate this activity to other objects.
Add custom currency fields to your opportunity and utilize them directly in forecasting.
Salesforce now supports overlay splits within forecasting. This allows you to split an opportunity between multiple sales representatives within your forecasting reports.
The improved Outlook side panel gives more control of Salesforce directly in Microsoft Outlook. Specify which attachments go to Salesforce. Select an Outlook task and push that to a specific record in Salesforce.
