ALSU User Guide Administration and Reporting Center Welcome to ALSU! Throughout this ALSU User Guide you will find instructions for setting up your Level 1 Administrator account, Level 2 Administrators and Students. Administrator Guide User Levels Each company, distributor or route operator will have a Level 1 Administrator. The Level 1 Administrator is responsible for assigning Level 2 Administrators and Students. A Level 1 Administrator is allowed to create, edit and delete all levels of user and view reports for everyone under their company s account. Level 2 Administrators have the same permissions, but only for the Students assigned to them. If necessary, Students can be moved from one Level 2 Administrator to another. NOTE: The number of Level 2 Administrators and Students in a company is unlimited. If additional Level 1 Administrators are needed for your company, please contact myalsu@alliancels.com. Create a Company Account 1. Go to the ALSU Training and Resource Center at myalsu.com. 2. Click Create New Account. This will direct you to the Registration Form. 3. Fill in the following company information: Company Name, City, State, Country and Customer Account Number. Fill in the first name, last name, email address and primary function for the primary contact who will be the Level 1 Administrator. 4. Click Register. A message will appear confirming that your information has been sent. Your account will be active within two business days. 5. You will receive a confirmation email once your ALSU account has been activated containing your User Name/ID and password. You must now login to your account and add Level 2 Administrators and/or Students. NOTE: Make sure you allow your spam filter to accept email from ALSU@fvtc.edu or you will not receive email notifications from ALSU. Page 1 of 7 Part No. 7-12-286R1 February 2013
Level 1 and Level 2 Administrators Login and Home Page Once the Level 1 Administrator has confirmation that the account is active, they can then login to the ALSU Training and Resource Center. 1. Login to ALSU using the User Name/ID and password provided in the confirmation email.click Forgot Your Password if you need to reset your password (must have User Name/ID). 3. Login using the same User Name/ID and password. 4. The ALSU Administration and Reporting Center will open to the Announcements page. You can return to this page anytime by clicking the Home icon. Click the Tools link to open your list of available tools. 5. Click the Company Administration button. This will take you to the Admin Menu where you can manage your account and add or remove users. 2. Click the Administration and Reporting Center link. Page 2 of 7
Add Users 1. From the Admin Menu, click the Add User button. j. Click Save. 2. Fill in the user s information: a. Fill in the user s first name and last name. b. Fill in their email address. c. Select the user s primary function from the Primary Function drop-down list. d. From the User Level drop-down list, select an account level for the user (either a Level 2 Administrator or a Student). e. From the Assigned To drop-down list, assign a Level 1 or 2 Administrator responsible for this user. f. Select if you wish the assigned administrator to receive duplicate emails from ALSU to this user. g. Fill in a password for the user. h. Under the Courses heading, select which courses you want the user to have access to. i. Under the Brands heading, choose which brands or groups you wish to assign to the user. 3. Once the user has been added, all of their courses will appear in their Training Plans. Note the status of the course is listed to the right of its title. Page 3 of 7
Remove User 1. From the Admin Menu click the User List category. 2. Click the name of the user to be removed. 3. Click the Delete button at the bottom of the user s page. A message will appear verifying that you want to delete this user. Click Yes. The user will be deactivated and added to the archive. NOTE: Users can be reactivated from the archive menu. Manage User Account From the Admin Menu click User List. Click on the name of a user to edit their account or click the user s email icon to send them an email. Assigned To - Students must be assigned to either a Level 1 or Level 2 Administrator. Select one from the drop-down list. Password - If a user has forgotten their password, you can enter a new password in the Password field. Click the Save button. Courses - You can assign to the user any courses available to your company as determined by ALSU. Level 2 Administrators can only assign courses to their Students that they are authorized to see by the Level 1 Administrator. Brands - You can authorize the user access to courses and information for groups or brands available to your company as determined by ALSU. Level 2 Administrators can only authorize brands/groups to their Students that they have been given access to by the Level 1 Administrator. NOTE: If you are missing any brands/groups or courses you should have access to, please contact myalsu@alliancels.com. Save - You MUST click this button for any changes made to the user s profile to take effect. Click the Cancel button to exit without making changes. Reports Under Admin Menu, click User Report to open the spreadsheet containing information regarding your users and their training progress. A Level 1 Administrator will see all Level 2 Administrators and Students within their company while a Level 2 Administrator will only see Students assigned to them. User Info - The users first name, last name and email address can be changed. Primary Function - Change the user s listed primary function by choosing an option from the drop-down list. User Level - Change the user s administration level to either Level 2 Administrator or Student. Level 2 Administrators can also add, remove and track the progress of Students assigned to them. Students do not have access to any administrator functions. Page 4 of 7
Students Login and Home Page 1. Login using the User Name/ID and password given to you by your ALSU Administrator. If you forget your password, click Forgot Your Password to reset your password (must have User Name/ID) or see your administrator to choose a new password. 3. Login using the same User Name/ID and password. 4. The ALSU Administration and Reporting Center will open to the Announcements page. You can return to this page anytime by clicking the Home icon. If you have any expiring certifications that need to be renewed, a warning will appear on the Announcements page listing them and their expiration dates. 2. Tools Users can find a link to the Tools Menu on the right side of the Welcome bar. My Courses The My Courses drop-down menu will allow you to navigate your Training Plans. Here any user can change their name, email address, primary function and password. 1. Click on the My Courses drop-down menu. It will list all courses assigned to you. 2. Click on a course from the list. The menu will slide to show a list of categories from your Training Plan and/or any options that apply to you. 3. Click on a category from the list you wish to see or click View All to see the entire Training Plan for this course. NOTE: Contact your ALSU Administrator for assistance if you are missing a brand/group, course, or category that you should have access to. Page 6 of 7
Training Plans and Lessons Each Training Plan lists the lessons or classes for the course assigned to you. Table of Contents Links to Training Classes Print Your Training Plans 1. Using the My Courses drop-down menu, click the course for which you want to print a Training Plan. 2. Click View All at the top of the menu. 3. At the top of the Training Plan page, click the Print icon. Print Certificates Class List Top of Page At the top of your Training Plan you will see the expandable Table of Contents to help you navigate between the categories. The name of each lesson or class is listed below with your quiz score (if taken), date of quiz taken and the status of the quiz (complete or incomplete). Mouse-over the title of the class to see a brief description of what the class will cover. You can also print certificates for completed quizzes by clicking on the icon under the Certificate column. Click the arrow next to the each category name to return to the top of the page.
