What is CDIA? CDIA is an international partnership initiative, established in 2007, by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Germany, with additional core funding support from the governments of Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, and the Shanghai Municipal Government.

Mandate CDIA provides assistance to medium-sized Asian cities to bridge the gap between their development plans and the implementation of their infrastructure investments. CDIA supports the identification and development of urban investment projects and links them with potential financiers.

To achieve scale, ensure sustainability and make an impact on national polices CDIA is engaging with a network of National Partner Organizations (NPOs) CDIA NPOs in Viet Nam Development Strategy Institute (DSI), under the Ministry of Planning & Investment Urban Development Agency (UDA), under the Ministry of Construction

Collaboration w/ NPOs Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2011 as operational basis for cooperation Through institutional scans, identified cities eligible and interested for CDIA technical assistance Have applied CDIA tools and processes such as CIIPP, PFS and Linking to Finance Increased outreach to cities on addressing infrastructure investment gaps through policy dialogue and advocacy Joint activities developed and access to national government resources facilitated CDIA Young Asian Professionals Program a 6-month internship aimed at enhancing capacity of young urban practitioners
