Abstract This article describes the keyboard shortcuts that you can use in Informatica Developer. When you select an object in the editor, you can change the appearance of the object and move the object. When an object is selected, a green border appears around the object. A dotted line also appears around a selected object to indicate that the object is in focus. The following image shows an object that is selected and in focus: You can focus on an object while you select other objects. Move the focus from a selected object to another object when you want to select multiple objects in the editor. 2
The following image shows an object that is in focus but not selected: The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts for objects: Select an object. Select the previous object. Find a particular object. Focus on the next object. Select multiple objects individually. Iconize selected objects. Restore selected objects. Resize selected objects. Move selected objects one pixel at a time in any direction. Go from an object to the editor. When the editor is selected, press Tab. The first object is selected and in focus. Press Tab again to select the next object. Shift+Tab Ctrl+O Ctrl+Tab When an object is in focus, press Ctrl+Tab to move the focus to the next object that you want to select. Then press Ctrl+Spacebar to select the focused object. Repeat these steps to select multiple objects individually. Ctrl+I Ctrl+R Press and hold Ctrl+Shift, and then use the Arrow keys. Arrow keys Esc Note: The navigation order of objects in the editor is from top to bottom and left to right. 3
Keyboard s for Ports You can use keyboard shortcuts to work with ports. When you select a port, you can edit the port and link the port to other ports. When a port is selected, the entire port appears green. A dotted line also appears around one port value of the selected port to indicate that the port is in focus. The following image shows a port that is selected and in focus: You can focus on a port while you select other ports. Move the focus from one port to another port when you want to select multiple ports individually. The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts for ports: Select a port. Select multiple ports. Select multiple ports individually. Focus on and edit the next port value. Focus on and edit the previous port value. Go from a port to the object. Link ports in two objects. When an object is selected and in focus, press Ctrl+G. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to select a different port. Shift+Up or Shift+Down Press and hold the Ctrl key, and then use the Up and Down arrow keys to focus on the port that you want to select. Then press Ctrl+Spacebar to select the port. Repeat these steps to select multiple ports individually. Tab Shift+Tab Esc Select the ports that you want to link in the first object, and then press Ctrl+L. The selected ports become highlighted. Navigate to the second object and select the ports that you want to link. Press Ctrl+L to link the ports. 4
Cancel a link. Select a link. Select the next link. Select the previous tab. Press Ctrl+Alt+L to clear the ports that you selected in the first object. Press Ctrl+G from the selected port to select the outgoing link from that port. Tab Shift+Tab Keyboard s for the Transformation Palette You can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate the Transformation palette. The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts for the Transformation palette: Go from the editor to the Transformation palette. Navigate the Transformation palette. Select an area of the Transformation palette. Go from the Transformation palette to the editor. When an editor is selected, press Ctrl+Shift+P. Use the Up and Down arrow keys. Tab Esc Keyboard s for the Workbench You can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate editors and views in the workbench. When you select an editor, you can navigate within the editor. A green border appears around an editor when it is selected. The following image shows an editor that is selected: 5
You can focus on editors and views. When a view is in focus, you can select the view or you can focus on another view. A blue border appears around an editor or view when it is in focus. The following image shows the Object Explorer view in focus: When a view has multiple tabs, a dotted line appears around the tab that is in focus. The following image shows the Write tab in focus: 6
The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts for the Workbench: Focus on a view. Select the first area in a view. Select a previous view or area. Minimize or maximize an editor. Select an area of the workbench. When an editor is selected, press Shift+Tab. Then use the Arrow keys to focus on another view within the same editor. When a view is in focus in an editor, press Ctrl+Tab. Press Ctrl+Tab again to select the next area. Effective in version 10.1, when a view is in focus in an editor, press Ctrl+Tab. Press the Tab button three times again to select the next area. Ctrl+Shift+Tab When a view is in focus, press Shift+Tab to select the Minimize or Maximize control, and then press Spacebar.
