1. Introduction Joomla Installer is an advanced open source Content Management System (CMS) that enables users to build websites and online applications. This application will easily install a Joomla! CMS to a directory that you specify within your web services account. To launch Joomla Installer take the following steps: 1. Log into the Control Panel 2. Select WebsiteOS Applications from the main menu 3. Click on the Joomla Installer icon located in the sub-menu; the Joomla Installer welcome screen will display: 4. To launch Joomla Installer, click Start. The application will open in a new window: Joomla Installer User Guide Page 4 of 12 Version V 1.0
1.1. Navigation There are two ways to navigate within Joomla Installer. You may navigate using the Main Menu or the Alternative Menu. 1.1.1. Main Menu The main menu is located on the top right corner of Joomla Installer: Main Menu: links you to the Main Page of Joomla Installer Install: links you to the page where you can start installing this application Uninstall: links you to the page where you can uninstall this application Go To: links you to the page where you can access this application and start using it after installing it. Manage: links you to the page where you can manage this application Support: opens online help files for Joomla Installer in a new window Feedback: allows you to send feedback concerning Joomla Installer 1.1.2. Alternative Navigation Within some sections you will find Go Back and Next buttons these allow you to go back and forth between pages. Joomla Installer User Guide Page 5 of 12 Version V 1.0
2. Install 1. Click on the Install tab on the navigation bar. The following page will be displayed: 2. Select a Database User and Database Name to manage. 3. Select installation directory or create a new directory. 4. Enter Administrator account details. 5. Click Next to complete the installation. The following page will be displayed: a. Note: Your administrator username has to be longer than 3 characters and your password must be longer than 5 characters. Joomla Installer User Guide Page 7 of 12 Version V 1.0
3. Uninstall In order to uninstall Joomla, click on the Uninstall tab within the main navigation menu. The following page will be displayed: 1. Click on Next in order to proceed with the uninstall. The following page will be displayed: 2. Click Yes in order to confirm the uninstall process. a. Click No in order to cancel the uninstall process.
