Step by Step Instructions NZW37 2-Channel Smart Outlet ** For Wink Users ** Step 1 Gather Your Materials & Find an Appropriate Outlet Materials Needed: Grounded Outlet Cell Phone or Computer to sync your device Z-Wave enabled HUB/Gateway Locate an indoor outlet which is grounded and within the recommended distance (less than 100ft) from your Z-Wave Hub/Gateway. Walls, furniture, and other obstructions may affect the communication between the Plug-In Module and your Hub/Gateway, so please keep this in mind when selecting our location. Please contact us if you have any issues: contact@inovelli.com -Step 2- Plug In Lamp(s)/Appliance(s) Before plugging in your module, please plug in the device(s) you are looking to control. In addition, make sure that both devices together do not equal more than 10 Amps. Note: It is not recommended plugging in space (electric) heaters, or any other appliances that may present a hazardous condition due to unattended, unintentional, or automatic power control.
-Step 3- Plug In the Module & Exclude (Optional) You are now ready to plug in your module and start to sync to your Wink HUB. Before we start the official pairing (including) process, we are going to go over how to exclude a device. This step is optional, but we like to do it with any new Z-Wave device we get/test, just to make sure. The excluding process is like a reset, and it s helpful if you bought the device used, or if there is an issue with your HUB/Gateway. Plus, it doesn t hurt! IMPORTANT: Before beginning, make sure you can see your HUB from where you are standing (you can move the device later). Excluding Steps: Open up your Wink app and go to the main menu Click on the, Hubs icon Once on the, Hubs menu, click on the three dots on top right of your screen to access the, Settings menu Select the Hub you eventually want to pair your device to Scroll down about halfway and select, Z-Wave Controls REMINDER: Please make sure you can see your Hub from where you are excluding your device from to ensure the exclusion process works While watching your HUB, click on, Exclusion Mode you should see your HUB flashing Push on the Middle Button on the front of your NZW37 3-5 times within 3 seconds If successful, your HUB should stop flashing and turn GREEN. If it does not turn green, then please continue to try to exclude.
-Step 4- Adding (Including) to the Network & Completing the Setup Process Once you ve finished the Exclusion Process (or if you ve skipped it) it s time to include your Z-Wave device to your network. Including Steps: If you ve excluded, press the back button (<) on the top left of your screen, then the three dots on the top left On the HUBS screen, click, Add a Product underneath the picture of the HUB Scroll down about halfway and press, Lights Scroll down to the very bottom and press, ZWave Switch Press, Next where it says to, Refer to the product manual since you will not need it if you are following these directions! On the, Select HUB screen, select your HUB of choice (if you have multiple) and click, Next Click, Next again Click, Connect Now and your HUB will start flashing While your HUB is flashing, press the Middle Button on the front of your NZW37 3-5 times within 3 seconds If successful, your HUB will flash GREEN and your phone will say, Success IMPORTANT: It is important to note what color the HUB turns when flashing. Sometimes Wink will throw an error on the screen that says, This is taking longer than expected. If your HUB turns GREEN and you still get this error, just close out of your Wink App and reopen and all three switches should be there. Naming Your Switches: When pairing (including) is successful, you will be prompted to name three (3) separate switches The first switch (top) is the Main switch The second switch will be your left outlet (if looking directly at the module)
The third switch will be your right outlet (if looking directly at the module) Remember what you name your switches since you will be using these names below when setting up the Main switch to control both the second and third switch simultaneously via Robots. PLEASE READ IF ONLY ONE SWITCH IS PICKED UP DURING PAIRING PROCESS: If, when your phone says, Success it only lists one (1) switch, please name it, Main for now. Sometimes Wink does not show that it picked up all three switches. Force close the app (ie: press the square button on the bottom of your phone to bring up your running apps, and swipe Wink closed) Now, re-open the Wink app, wait a few seconds for it to load and your other switches should show up. -Step 5- Making the 3 rd (Main) Switch a, Master Switch to Control Lights Simultaneously You may have noticed that when you synced your NZW37, it created three separate switches. This is normal. However, the current software setup has the main switch (not the Switch Endpoints) only controlling the right outlet (if you re facing the front of the outlet).
