The UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector features environmentally protected contacts using a sealing compound compatible with electronic circuits (non-silicone) and inside wire insulation. The UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector is designed for indoor or outdoor outside plant (OSP) applications building entrance terminals (BETs), remotes and subscriber demarcation points. Each UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector contains double-sided insulation displacement connectors (IDCs). These IDCs will terminate from 22 to 26 AWG (0.69 to 0.4 mm) plastic insulated conductors with a maximum diameter of 1.2 mm (0.048 in). The UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector is easily identified by stamped code numbers and by pair identification markings on the front and back of the plastic molding. It is molded in gray to blend in with other BETs, remotes and subscriber demarcation products and is Category 5 rated. Interface Connector - UMOXS1A A 25-pair connector for single-pair terminations (one pair IN, one pair OUT ). Used for terminating feeder and distribution pairs for cross-connecting. Universal MOXS (UMOXS ) Cross-Connect System Retainer Corning Cable Systems UMOXS Cross-Connect System retainers provide an encapsulation system for the cable and the UMOXS connectors. They are made of plastic with a unique spring-loaded cover designed to prevent the retainer from being left completely open. In addition, some retainers are supplied with a non-conductive reenterable sealant to provide complete environmental protection for the feeder and distribution cable terminations. The retainers attach to the mounting columns to hold the connectors at the correct location and protect them from damage. Each retainer incorporates a cable strain-relief point at the rear and an integral labeling slot for pair designation labels on the front. Terminating Fixture - QFE1A This terminating fixture supports the UMOXS Cross- Connect System connector during the termination of the cable pairs. It facilitates the installation of the retainer and ensures that there is the correct amount of slack in each binder group. The fixture is made of metal, with a two-position locking head. Slots and latches hold it in position on the mounting column. Posts for the binder group, wire guides for the pairs and the color-coded pair-check strip facilitate conductor placement and ensure proper wiring. A plastic carrying case is supplied with each fixture. Connection Tool - TMOXS16A A spring-activated seating and cutting tool for terminating 22, 24 and 26 AWG (0.63, 0.5 and 0.4 mm), plastic insulated conductors on the UMOXS Cross-Connect System connectors. A turn button on the handle adjusts the tool for seating only, or for seating and cutting the conductors. Manual Locking Test Probe - TMOXS17A This test probe is a test adapter to allow testing access to a single pair on any UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector. It is color coded to indicate red ring (right); black tip (left). A TOUCH and GO feature allows quick testing without fully attaching the test probe to the connector. The wire leads are 6-in long and terminated with two alligator clips to provide test access with other types of terminations. Self-Locking Test Probe - TMOXS37A This test probe is a test adapter to allow testing access to a single pair on any UMOXS Cross-Connect System connector. The test probe is color coded to indicate red ring (right); black tip (left). It provides a side opening to accommodate a secondary test set.
