IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 1 1 Introduction The IGEL PanaVeo Series IGEL PanaVeo Thin Clients have been designed for Multi-Display solutions and for suppor of special screen formats (high resolution or wide screen mode). Besides the unique video capabilities the PanaVeo software equals the IGEL LX or XP firmware of the Premium series. Therfore this document is limited to the special options within the PanaVeo firmware, all other functionality is described in the general documentation of the IGEL Thin Clients. This documentation contains the following sections: 1. Introduction Overviewr 2. PanaVeo LX Multi-Monitor-Mode with Linux 3. PanaVeo XP Multi-Monitor-Mode with Windows XPe Important Note: All pictures and descriptions are based on firmware version 3.07.300 (LX) and 1.02.410 (XPe). If further support is necessary please contact your dealer or IGEL distributor or visit us at www.igel.com and fill out our support form (section "Service & Support").

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 1 2 PanaVeo LX All devices come with a dual or quad breakout cable to connect two or four DVI displays to the Matrox graphic board. You can connect analog VGA displays as well, using the adapters coming with the PanaVeo. 2.1 IGEL 7302 LX PanaVeo with Matrox EpicA TC2 The Linux based PanaVeo with Matrox TC2 graphic board allows to connect two digital or analog displays or operation of one analog display in high resolution mode. First connect the DVI multiport cable with the DVI port of the Thin Client and then couple both ends of the cable with the DVI or VGA port of your two displays. Note: The analog VGA port on the back panel of the PanaVeo Thin Client is not active, please use the breakout cable and the DVI-VGA adapters to connect analog displays. The default video resolution when booting the system for the first time is 640x480 pixel for each display. You can change the display settings within the IGEL setup using the Advanced Display Settings. Configuration of the first screen

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 2 All display settings are accessible on the Display folder of the IGEL Thin Client's setup application. Set resolution and color depth for the fist display using the pull down menus and then click on Advanced Display Settings to see the configuration of the second display. Configuration of the second screen The second display's video resolution can be configured independently from the first screen's resolution, the color depth is equal for both displays. You can set up the second display left, right, under or above the first display. To use the maximum digital resolution of 1920 x 1200 you have to set the DVI flag next to the resolution's pull down menu. Basically the second display will be used as extended desktop to allow a free positioning of application windows. Elements like the Task Bar, ICA-, RDP- and Browser-Sessions can either be limited to one display or stretched across both displays. You can configure the display option global for ICA sessions and session based for RDP and the Browser. The Dual Monitor Mode has no effect on ICA sessions in Seamless Window Mode - the ICA application window will always be placed fitting bist and it will be maximized to one display only.

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 3 Following options are possible: 2.2 IGEL 7304 LX PanaVeo with Matrox EpicA TC4 The Linux based PanaVeo with Matrox TC4 graphic board allows to connect four digital or analog displays. First connect the DVI multiport cable with the DVI port of the Thin Client and then couple all ends of the cable with the DVI or VGA port of your displays.

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 4 Advanced Display Settings (2. Screen) Two displays are combined to one area ('Screen' within IGEL setup application). So you have two screens with two displays each. You can setup the four displays as follows: All display settings are accessible on the Display folder of the IGEL Thin Client's setup application. Set resolution and color depth for the fist screen (display 1+2) using the pull down menus and then click on Advanced Display Settings to see the configuration of the second screen (display 3+4). Basically you have the same options as in the Dual Monitor mode, but the settings are valid for a pair of two screens - except the video resolution, this is set for one display and not for the screen area of two displays. Applications can either be maximized to one screen (streched over two displays) or to all four displays. Maximizing to one single display is not possible at present.

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 5 3 PanaVeo XP All devices come with a dual or quad breakout cable to connect two or four DVI displays to the Matrox graphic board. You can connect analog VGA displays as well, using the adapters coming with the PanaVeo. 3.1 IGEL 7602 XP PanaVeo with Matrox EpicA TC2 and IGEL 7604 XP PanaVeo with Matrox EpicA TC4 IGEL PanaVeo with Windows XP Embedded First connect the DVI multiport cable with the DVI port of the Thin Client and then couple all ends of the cable with the DVI or VGA port of your displays. Note: The analog VGA port on the back panel of the PanaVeo Thin Client is not active, please use the breakout cable and the DVI-VGA adapters to connect analog displays. The default video resolution when booting the system for the first time is 1024x768 pixel for each display. You can change the display settings within the IGEL setup. Start Matrox PowerDesk SE The PanaVeo XP Firmware comes with Matrox PowerDesk SE software to configure the Dual or Quad Display Mode. You can start the PowerDesk application by clicking the Task Bar icon as shown above.

IGEL Technology GmbH IGEL PanaVeo Series 6 Matrox PowerDesk SE (with TC4) You should enable the advanced Matrox display controls to allow full confugurability of Multi Monitor Mode. The display options are Single Mode: Only one display is active, this should be connected to port "1" of the multiport cable. Clone Mode: All displays show the same picture. Stretched Mode: The Windows Desktop is streched to all displays, application windows will be maximized to the desktop. Independent Mode: The Windows Desktop is separated into two or four parts on all displays, application windows will be maximized to their current display. With the Matrox TC4 (PanaVeo 7604) you have the option to configure the display's rotation within the PowerDesk application - the TC2 (PanaVeo 7602) supports display rotation within the Windows display setup only. You can set up the displays in a row (vertical or horizontal) or as 2x2 matrix. When using applications that should be displayed across all two or four screens the streched mode should be configured, the independent mode is best for showing many different applications on all displays. More information on the Matrox PowerDesk SE software can be found in the online help of the programm.
