About this Guide This guide describes the setup for the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browsers. When using any non-ie Web browser, the workflow setup, accounting integration, expense transaction import, data import, OLAP charts and calendar edit functionality is not supported in the Tenrox application. Tenrox: Web Browser Configuration Tenrox is browser independent application that is used for day-to-day end-user, management and administration functions. The Tenrox application requires the use of a supported Internet Explorer (IE) version to access and use the following features: Workflow Designer Accounting and Microsoft Project integrations, as well as Excel data imports OLAP charting and printing of Microsoft reports (RDLC) Credit card transaction file imports Tenrox project planning (Gantt charting tool) Calendar edits Deprecated as of: Tenrox 2011 R3, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 support. 2012 Tenrox 3
Tenrox: Web Browser Configuration Changing Microsoft Internet Explorer Settings To ensure that the correct information is received from the Tenrox Web server and a cached copy is not reloaded, the Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers need to be forced to check for the latest version of software from the Tenrox Web server. Note: This procedure is required only for Internet Explorer browsers. To change Microsoft Internet Explorer settings: 1. Launch Internet Explorer. 2. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options to open the Internet Options dialog box. 3. Click the General tab and then click Settings under Browsing history to open the Temporary Internet Files and History Settings dialog box. 4. Click Automatically to check for newer versions of stored Web pages and then click OK to return to the Internet Options dialog box. Note: By default, the option Every time I visit the webpage is selected in Internet Explorer. 4 www.tenrox.com
Changing Microsoft Internet Explorer Settings 5. Click the Security tab and then the Trusted sites icon. 6. Click the Sites button to open the Trusted sites dialog box. 7. Enter the URL of the Tenrox Web server in the Add this Website to the zone box and then click the Add button to include the URL to the Websites list. Note: If the Web server does not use a secure connection, ensure that the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box is cleared. 8. Tenrox: Web Browser Configuration 9. Click the Privacy tab and then set the slider to Low for the zone s security level. 10. Click OK to set the security level and then close Internet Explorer. 11. Relaunch Internet Explorer and then enter the complete URL to access the Tenrox application. Note: After connecting to the Tenrox Web server, the indicator is displayed in the Internet Explorer browser s status bar. 6 www.tenrox.com
