IBC Installation Guide *These steps are compatible with all scanner models/types but, for this guide, the Panini VisionX scanner was used Typically, we will be installing one of 4 scanners: Batch Scanners: Single-feed Scanners: Panini VisionX Panini ideal TellerScan TS240 TellerScan CX30 Section 1 Preparing to Install **While installing, we need to make sure that the scanner is unplugged until the driver installation is complete. Also, the drivers need be installed under a User profile that has Administrative rights. We should ask the customer if they have Admin rights or check before proceeding or the installation won t work. You can check by going to the Control Panel/User Accounts/and, if they have Administrative rights to the PC, it will say Administrator under their User Name. If re-installing a scanner, first delete the previous drivers in the Control Panel/Programs and Features by right-clicking on the drivers (there should be 2 parts) labeled as either Panini or TellerScan and selecting Uninstall; Page 1 of 18
000 Once that is done, we need to determine what bit Operating System the PC is using as this will determine what drivers we need to download. This can be done one of two ways; 1. Find Computer (it may be titled My Computer or This PC depending on the OS) in the Start Menu, right-click on it and chose Properties; 2. OR the other option is to go into the folder menu by opening any folder or clicking on the folder icon on the taskbar and locate the C: Drive. If there is a Program Files (x86) folder therein, that is a 64-bit Operating System. Page 2 of 18
Section 2 Driver Installation With that determined, we can proceed to download the drivers. We will go into Internet Explorer and go to ibizcapturepro.winrust.com. At the top of the page, there is an option for 1: Download & Install Driver. We need to download the drivers for the corresponding scanner based on the PC s OS. Here, you can see that the VisionX Driver under 64 Bit OS Driver Selection is selected. When you click on the driver selection, you should be prompted to Open, Save or Save As. Click on Save As and chose Desktop; Page 3 of 18
The file will be saved as a zipped/compressed file on the Desktop. We need to navigate to the desktop and right-click on the zipped folder and choose Extract All (or Extract or Unzip, depending on the program on the PC). When that is complete, we need to open the unzipped folder, right-click on the setup.exe and choose Run as Administrator. There is no customization to the setup for any of our drivers or models; you will just continue through the process (click next or continue on each screen) until the end where you will receive a notification that the installation was completed successfully. This process should take a few minutes with a TellerScan scanner but make take a little more time with a Panini scanner. *After the installation of a Panini VisionX scanner is complete, there is one more setting that we need to adjust for check thickness. This prevents the scanner from jamming when thicker checks are being scanned. In Computer or a folders window, we will need to go to the C: Drive and open the following sequence of folders; ProgramData (which may be hidden see below for instructions on how to unhide a folder)/advanced Financial Solutions/Direct/Config and then open the MVXParameters.ini file (which will open in Notepad). We need to go down to the second-to-last line and change the text there from Enable=1 to Enable=0. You can close it and save the changes and the configuration is complete. Page 4 of 18
*To unhide a folder in Windows 7; in a folders window, click on Organize and choose Folder and Search Options. In the Folder Options window, click on the View tab, check the radio button for Show hidden files, folders and drives and then hit OK. Page 5 of 18
In Windows 10, in the folder window, there is a View tab and you ll just need to check the box for Hidden Items. Page 6 of 18
Section 3 Configuring Internet Settings Next, we can do the configuration of Internet Explorer. Please note that IE is the only browser that can be used for IBC. From the same page where we downloaded our drivers, we will hover over 2: CapturePro-Web and click on Web Client Login at the bottom. This takes us to the login screen that the client will eventually use. Most PCs have IE11 so we will need to go to Compatibility View settings in the Tools menu (which may look like a gear or a wheel in the upper right-hand corner of the screen) and select that. It will want to add the domain Wintrust.com. You can click Add and, once it appears in the bottom list of sites, we can click Close. Page 7 of 18
Sometimes, doing this will bring up a prompt at the bottom of the Internet Explorer page asking you to allow a Windows Media Player Add-on. We need to make sure that we allow this Add-on by clicking Allow. Next, we will go back to Tools and click on Internet Options. We need to click on the Security tab and then click on the green checkmark for the Trusted Sites Zone. We will then click on Add to add the website as a Trusted Site (the web address should pre-fill based on the page that you are on). Page 8 of 18
After the site has been added, you will click Close and then, still in the Internet Options menu, we will go down and click on Custom Level. Page 9 of 18
In the Custom Level screen, we will go down to the bottom and click on the drop-down for Reset to:, chose Medium-low and click Reset. Page 10 of 18
At that point, still in this same area, we will need to enable 6 settings in the list of options; 2 under Active X Controls and Plug-ins and 4 under Miscellaneous Options. They are as follows: Download Signed ActiveX Controls Download Unsigned ActiveX Controls Access Data Sources Across Domains Display Mixed Content Navigate windows and frames across different domains Websites in Less Privileged Web Content Zone can Navigate Into this Zone (which is usually automatically Enabled after you reset the Zone to Medium-low). 6 Once the settings have been changed, we will click Okay at the bottom of the page and you will get the message below. Click Yes and the setup portion is complete. *From this point, the installation is complete. The customer can plug the scanner in, sign into IBC and Register the scanner under the Registration tab. Under the Registration tab, they are going to select their location and scanner type from the dropdown menu and click Register. The option will change from Register to Re-Register and the dropdown menus will be grayed-out. They can then click on the Deposit tab and proceed with the deposit. Page 13 of 18
Section 4 SmartClient Some customers use the SmartClient program for scanning checks. This is a locally installed program on the PC. It is usually customers who have a large check volume or who have experieneced issues with the standard WebClient setup. These steps will be done after all of the previous steps have been completed. The program is installed from the same page that the drivers are installed from; ibizcapturepro.wintrust.com. There is a Prerequisites sections but, in most instances, that shouldn t be necessary. New computers have the minimum.net Framework on the PC for the program. Clicking on that will start the installation process. Like the driver installation, there is no customization to be done. Page 14 of 18
It is best to make a shortcut on the user s Desktop once the installation is complete because they need to use this icon to login. We will go to the Start menu/all Programs/Wintrust Financial/iBusiness Capture Pro/right-click on that and chose Send to Desktop (create shortcut); That icon will take you to a login page. Page 15 of 18
The customer needs to enter their login information and, the first time, they will get the following message and will need to click on the blue link to go through the Multi-Factor Authentication process; Clicking on that will open a browser page and take them through the Authentication process just like it would in WebClient (they will need to make sure that they Register the PC when they complete the process or it will make them go through it again). Once the setup is complete, they will see the page below and be directed to sign in. The last thing we will need to do is Register the scanner and then we can proceed with the deposit as we normally would. Page 16 of 18
The interface of the program looks a little different but the steps are essentially the same. Page 17 of 18
Section 5 - Troubleshooting Below are some of the common errors that you may receive and the solutions to them. There is a more detailed Troubleshooting Guide on the Treasury Management Team Page under Team Documents/IBC Pro. Page is stuck on Verifying Client this usually occurs when the domain Wintrust.com has been deleted from Compatibility View Settings because of the cookies being cleared or an update to Internet Explorer. To fix the issue, you will need to go to Tools/Compatibility View Settings/add Wintrust.com to the sites list and click Close. Device Library Failed to Load this usually occurs when the PC is having trouble communicating with the scanner. To fix the issue, the following steps need to be completed in the order listed; o unplug the power and USB cables from the back of the scanner o close Internet Explorer o plug the cables back into the scanner and proceed with the deposit o If the error persists, have the customer double-check the power and USB connections to the outlet and computer respectively. If it still comes up, you may have to re-install the scanner drivers. Server has Experienced an Error this usually occurs when the Internet Options that were discussed in the Configuring Internet Settings section have been cleared out due to a change to the browser or an update to Windows (specifically the Access Data Sources Across Domains option). To fix the issue, you will need to re-configure the Internet Options and make sure the 4 primary options are Enabled. Read Failure Occurred this usually occurs with Panini scanners after the checks are scanned and the customer clicks on Stop Scan or Close because the images were not read and check images do not appear. To fix the issue, you will need to re-install the scanner drivers. If the error persists, you may need to send a replacement scanner as this may be indicative of the scanner failing. Checks Jamming in VisionX Scanner/Jam Occurred this usually occurs with thicker checks jamming in the track and a message popping up saying Jam Occurred. There is a setting on the Panini VisionX scanner that, if not adjusted, will cause the machine to jam with thicker checks. To fix the issue, navigate to Computer or any folders window and go to the C: Drive and open the following sequence of folders; ProgramData (which may be hidden see the Driver Installation section for how to unhide a folder)/advanced Financial Solutions/Direct/Config and then open the MVXParameters.ini file (which will open in Notepad). We need to go down to the second-to-last line and change the text there from Enable=1 to Enable=0. You can close it and save the changes and the configuration is complete. Page 18 of 18
