Overview The purpose of this document is to define the process for installing the DS2 / inet System. The process will take you through installing the DS2 / inet System on a Windows 2003 Server. The Docking Station Server will connect to an external SQL Server. Note: To Download the DS2 Software from the ISC FTP site, please refer to Appendix I Downloading DS2 Software. Install the DS2 Pre-Requisites Log on to the DSS with the Administrator Account. Click Start - Control Panel- Add or Remove Programs Highlight Message Queuing and click Details Uncheck Active Directory Integration Click Add/Remove Windows Components Highlight Application Server and click Details Ensure the following checkboxes are checked: ASP.Net Enable network COM+ access Internet Information Services (IIS) Message Queuing. Click OK Click OK Click Next to save changes and continue installing the services. After the services finish installing, Click Finish and close all open windows. Page 2 of 13
Install Docking Station Server (DSS) Note: Prior to completing the DSS installation, the DS2 databases must be attached to an External SQL Server. - If the databases are not setup. Please complete the Setup DS2 Databases on SQL Server procedure located on the http://www.inetrescue.net site. - The following information is needed to complete the installation of the DSS: SQL Server Name SQL Server Instance SQL Server Username / Password Insert the DSS CD Click Install Docking Station Server Click Next to start the PreRequisite Check Click Next at the Docking Station Server screen Select 3) Attach to an existing DSS database available on my network Click Next Read through and click Yes to Agree to the License Agreement Page 3 of 13
At the SQL Server screen, enter in the Server Name of the SQL Server. At the Review Settings prompt, click Next to continue the installation. Setup will install DSS and attach to the External SQL Server. Do not click any boxes or pop-ups until the setup has completed. At the Instance Name screen, enter in the SQL Server Instance. After the setup has finished: Check No, I will restart my computer later Click Finish At the Default User Password screen, enter in the password. Page 4 of 13
Install DSS Admin Console Click Yes, to accept the License Agreement From the DS2 installation Screen, click Install Docking Station Server Admin Console Ensure the Username and Company Name are completed and click Next At the Welcome Screen, click Next At the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next Page 5 of 13
At the Start Copying Files screen, click Next After the setup has been completed, click Finish Page 6 of 13
Install Docking Station Configurator Click Yes, to accept the License Agreement From the DS2 installation Screen, click Install Docking Station Configurator Ensure the Username and Company Name are completed and click Next At the Welcome Screen, click Next At the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next Page 7 of 13
At the Start Copying Files screen, click Next Right-Click on the desktop and Click Paste to copy the Admin Console shortcut to the desktop After the Configurator has been installed, click Finish Right-Click Start-Programs-Industrial Scientific Corporation Docking Station Server Admin Console Click Copy Reboot the Server Click Start-Shutdown Enter DSS for a comment Click OK Page 8 of 13
Log into DSS Admin Console After rebooting the system, Log on to the DSS for the first time with the DSSUSER Account. Open the DSS Admin Console o Click Start-Programs-Industrial Scientific Corporation Docking Station Server Admin Console o Click the Options>> tab in the lower-right corner Log on with the following credentials: o User Name dssuser o Password DS2user o DSS IP localhost Enabling inet (only for inet Customers) Note: Enable inet using the steps below: Log into the Docking Station Server Admin Console Click View - Configuration Enter in the account information. Contact the inet Support Team for your account information. o Enabled: (check) o URL: https://inetupload.indsci.com/uploadweb/services/uploader o inet User ID: (provided) o inet Password: (provided) o Default inet Account Num: (provided) Page 9 of 13
Click OK Note: If your Docking Station Server will upload data to inet via a proxy server, please configure the proxy server by following the procedure in Appendix II: Enable Proxy Server Page 10 of 13
Appendix I: Downloading the DS2 / inet Software Follow the steps below to download the latest version of the DS2 / inet Software Download from: o Location: http://www.inetrescue.net/customer/ds2/downloads/ o Username: customer o Password: inet Click the DS2 Current Version Link Click the link to download the individual DS2 / inet System Component or complete DS2 / inet ISO image Page 11 of 13
Appendix II: Enable Proxy Server This procedure was created to assist a user in configuring the DS2 / inet System to upload data through a Proxy Server. Setup Proxy Server Address Log on to the Docking Station Server with Administrator privileges. Open the configuration.xml file located in the c:\inetpub\wwwroot\dssws\bin with Wordpad. Search for proxyaddress= Enter the proxy server address in between the proxy Save and close the configuration.xml file. Restart the DS2 inet Connector o Click Start-Run o Type in net start "DS2 inet Connector" to restart the service Setup Authenticated Account The DS2 inet Connector Service is the service that uploads the data to the inet Servers. If the proxy server requires authentication, the DS2 inet Connector Service must be setup to run under an authorized account. Logon to the Docking Station Server with an account having Administrator Privileges. Click Start Run Type services.msc and click OK Double-Click on the DS2 inet Connector Page 12 of 13
Click the Log On tab Check the This Account radio button Enter in the account information. Click OK Restart the DS2 inet Connector o Click Start-Run o Type in net start "DS2 inet Connector" to restart the service Page 13 of 13
