VILLEGAS FAMILY TREE Version 7 14 April 2014 of Tanjay-Bais, Negros Oriental INTRODUCTION: This is one of the standard print-outs of the Family Tree Maker Genealogical Software. The print-out is generated from data mainly from the Villegas Family Tree printouts of 1999 given to us by family patriarch Pepe Tiongson. It traces their roots to Geronimo Villegas, from Spain, who in turn, is the husband of Escolastica Tikay Teves, daughter of a part-chinese Teves. The Villegas information was merged into a database that has been accumulated from various sources over the years, in what is referred to as a Genealogical Project, now over 32,000 names. This project traces the inter-relational linkages between major families in the Tanjay-Bais area and beyond. Unique in this database is that each individual has been assigned a birth year, which is an educated guess based on date interpolation sing logical assumptions of sibling spacing, and childbearing years. Such dates are prefixed by the word about. Where the exact date is known, the birth years of the siblings, parents and children are adjusted accordingly. It must be noted that many of the birth years may be significantly off, since the order of births of siblings may be inaccurate, and/or incomplete. The format of the print-out is as follows: 1. Arabic numeral prefix to each name is a unique number for each individual. 2. Names with a plus + prefix means that the name will appear again in later generations, in reference to their children. 3. Roman numeral prefix is the order of birth for siblings. 4. Small superscripted numbers indicate generational level of individuals. 5. Parenthetized names after emboldened name are forebears or bloodline of individual. 6. Where full names are unknown, XXX, YYY are used, or other descriptive titles.
