Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Select a valid serial COMM port available on the PC 2
DRIVE PC transferring parameters from the DRIVE to PC DRIVE PC is the process of the HPV 600, HPV 900, or Quattro sending all of its parameter values (from a file with the extension.par) to a computer. This process can be used for memory backup. While the drive is running a motor, the only interaction allowed between the drive and Mag Explorer is the transferring of parameters from the drive to the computer. 1. Select the drive PC function 2. Select parameter file path and name 3
3. Parameter transfer Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Attempt selection of Drive to PC again Check if cabling between PC and HPV 600, HPV 900, HPV 900 S2or Quattro is properly connected Ensure HPV 600, HPV 900, HPV 900 S2 or Quattro is powered on Check for proper Comm Port selection 4. Choose proper submenu legends If the parameters came from the HPV900 S2 drive, use HPV900 Series 2 defaults for the submenu legends 4
If the parameters came from either the HPV 600 or HPV 900, use HPV600/900 defaults for the submenu legends If the parameters came from a Quattro DC, use QUATTRO defaults for the submenu legends There is a third option for manually entering the submenu legends if the user chooses to go through each submenu naming as desired. The sequence for each submenu is as follows: Click OK. The next window will appear asking if the user would like to modify the legend of the sequential button. For example, the first button has the present legend of Drive-A1. If the user would like to change the legend, click Yes: Enter desired legend in the screen below: The latter two screens will occur for each A0 submenu and each C0 submenu. 5
5. The transferred parameters will then display 6
PC DRIVE transferring parameters from the PC to DRIVE PC DRIVE is the process of a computer sending all settable parameters (with the extension.par) to a HPV 600, HPV 900, or Quattro. This process can be used to set up the drive with a set of pre-configured parameters. IMPORTANT It is not recommended for the HPV 600, HPV 900, HPV 900 S2 or Quattro to be running a motor while transferring parameters from the PC to the drive PC drive. This could lead to a dangerous operating condition. 1. Select the PC drive function 2. Initiating parameter transfer to drive 7
Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Attempt selection of PC to Drive again Check if cable between PC and HPV 600, HPV 900, HPV 900 S2, or Quattro is properly connected Ensure HPV 600, HPV 900, HPV 900 S2 or Quattro is powered on Check for proper Comm Port selection 3. Parameter transfer Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears If window shows differences is minimum values, it maybe OK to proceed (since some default values are below the defined minimums) If window shows differences other than minimum values, look more closely at this 8
Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Password protection on the drive must be disabled for parameters to be transferred to this drive PASSWORD LOCKOUT=disabled (U1) Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears The units selection must be changed to match the parameter file (U3) Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears The software revision is not the same between the drive and the parameter file If the transfer continues, only the identifiable parameters will be transferred Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Parameters exist in the current software version of the drive than do in the *.par being sent to the drive If the transfer continues, those parameters will stay at the original value and not change with the *.par file Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears Parameters occur in the *.par file that are not found in the drive software If the transfer continues, these parameters will not be sent Troubleshooting tip If the following message appears A parameter was changed and was not saved via Save to Disk function 9
4. Parameter transfer complete 5. Parameter transfer options Transfer filename.par to the Drive will send parameter file to drive after first checking the software version and parameter structure on the drive Resend will send parameter file to drive without first checking the software version and parameter structure on the drive. Note: the resend function will only be enabled after a successfully parameter transfer has occurred and is disabled if the drive is powered down or the cable is disconnected. This is most useful when actively editing parameters rather than using the digital operator. Exit returns to main screen 10
