OVERVIEW: The India Sustainability Leadership Summit 2017 hosted by Frost & Sullivan and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) aims to bring together key thinkers and business leaders, who have delivered and continue to deliver strategies, ideas and solutions for a sustainable business and future. The Summit aims to enhance awareness on business models, tools, technologies, solutions and approaches followed by the global and regional leaders across industry verticals towards building sustainable economies. This year s summit is focused on Circular Economies and newer business models encouraging businesses to achieve SDGs, sustainable models for consistent financing of these projects and technologies available to reduce environmental footprint. Innovations being at the core, the leaders are expected to educate participants on newer business models, technologies and solutions followed by them in their organization. This would assist companies who are contemplating on adoption of Sustainability Initiatives through actual examples/case studies of companies that have commenced adoption of sustainability philosophy and in a way that justifies the investment. The adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), covering economic, social development, and environmental protection, provide an opportunity for engagement and a new type of partnership to address the global challenges. Private sector investments and marketbased solutions will be needed to achieve scalable and sustained impact in many sectors, while aligning with <2 C pathways to reduce exposure to climate risks. The questions for the corporate leaders today are not whether or not sustainability adds value to their business, but how to integrate these considerations more deeply into the fabric of their organizations. This entails that businesses will explore means to reduce their impact across the entire value chain and forge collaborations with others in support of their sustainability goals.
