INSTRUCTOR HIRING CRITERIA INSTRUCTOR PREREQUISITES All potential instructors (staff/contract) must undergo an assessment of qualifications to perform instruction for isafety Services Ltd. Verification of training credentials and experience will be performed before an instructor may take any isafety instructor training courses. Contract and Staff Instructors must have the following Hiring Requirements Current resume outlining experience and training background Valid OSSA training credential for all courses you wish to instruct Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an applicable industry or a combination of practical, formal education and teaching experience Valid First Aid Level C certificate Proof of WCB coverage and personal liability insurance (contract instructors only, staff are covered under isafety) Complete the Instructor Application Form (pages 3 and 4) Attach copies of all the above I declare that the information on this form is correct and I confirm that I have read and agree with the information presented on this form. INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM To become an isafety Certified Instructor of an OSSA Accredited course, all Instructors must complete the requirements of our Instructor Training Program. Once your application has been approved, the following steps must be completed in the order listed below before you can deliver the program to others, and become an isafety Certified Instructor of an OSSA Accredited Course. INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Successfully complete the isafety OSSA Instructor Training course. Sign & attach the Instructor Memorandum of Understanding (page 5). Within 3 months of completing the Instructor Training course, observe a course being taught by a qualified isafety Lead Instructor. Within 6 months of completing the Instructor Training course, teach your first course in the presence of the isafety Lead Instructor. Must be evaluated by isafety before you can deliver the program to others. If any critical issues are noted feedback will be given to the instructor immediately and they may be directed to repeat any part of the Instructor Training Program. If during this initial audit the lead instructor is satisfied with the delivery of the isafety course they will sign off on the Instructor Memorandum of Understanding thus allowing the new instructor to deliver the course independently in the future. In order to maintain their isafety certification instructors must teach a minimum of 3 courses per year. All course materials (student handbooks, exams, credentials etc.) must be purchased from isafety. isafety reserves the right to update the program at anytime. If an update occurs, instructors must acknowledge receipt of the changes by signing and returning the Program Revision form and immediately implement the changes in their delivery of said course. Instructors must notify isafety immediately if there is a change to their contact information and confirm acknowledgement of any changes in a follow up email. INSTRUCTOR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN INSTRUCTOR NAME AND isafety SERVICES LTD. I, of (if applicable) agree to abide by all the policies and procedures of isafety Services Ltd. as presented in the Instructor Training Program. I will not modify or reproduce any isafety Services Ltd. materials without written permission. In order to maintain my certification I will: Instruct at least 3 courses per year for each program which I am certified; Adhere to the course Lesson Plan(s) Appendix C, to deliver the course(s) exactly as intended; Submit to isafety Administration all completed course paperwork within 2 weeks of each course; Maintain my own health and safety credentials as per initial isafety Services Ltd. requirements; Participate in an annual program review for each program which I am certified; Make myself available for an Instructor Audit by isafety by 6 months then bi-annually and after any major updates; Sign a Letter of Compliance during the annual program reviews; Update isafety immediately if my contact information changes; and Sign all Program Revision forms; return them to isafety and implement changes/updates within required timeframes. All advertising and delivery of an isafety Services Ltd. training program must clearly indicate that it is being offered on behalf of isafety Services Ltd, an OSSA Accredited Training Provider. isafety Services Ltd. reserves the right to suspend or revolve instructor certification for any deviation from the above requirements and/or those in the Instructor Training Program. All Instructors are required on initial hire and on an annual basis to provide isafety with an updated resume, copies of any new or renewed training credentials, proof of insurance and WCB coverage to support the instructor hiring criteria for the course(s) they are teaching.
