Organizer Portal Instructions by
Part one: Downloading and Completing Your Organizer 1) To begin working on your organizer, the first step is to download the organizer PDF file. To do so, click the Download button (as indicated by the red box on the diagram). Note: Please ensure that you have a PDF reader installed on your computer prior to downloading this document. If needed, you can download one from Adobe by visiting this link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/
2) Once you have clicked Download, your browser will most likely open the document in another tab. If so, click the Download Arrow in the top right of the screen to save the file to your computer s hard drive (indicated by the red box on the diagram below).
3) Once you have clicked the Download Arrow, a screen will open that asks you where to save the file. Typically, you should choose Desktop or Downloads. When the file is finished downloading, a bar will most likely appear at the bottom of your screen. You can click the small, upward pointing arrow, to find the file s location. To do so, select Show in Folder.
3) After you have located your file on your hard drive, you simply need to double-click on the icon to open up your organizer.
3) You should now be looking at the first page of the tax organizer. Simply fill out the fields that apply to you (Exhibit A). As you continue to work on the subsequent pages, you may skip any sections that do not apply to you (If you are unsure if a section applies, our staff will be happy to help). Once you are done entering your information, always make sure to save your work by clicking on the image of a floppy disk in the top left corner of the screen (Exhibit B). If you cannot complete your organizer in one sitting, simply save your work, and resume later on when it is convienient. B) A)
Part two: Uploading Your Completed Organizer 1) After you have completed your organizer (and saved your work), it is time to upload it to our office. To do so, return to the ShareFile Organizer Portal located on our website. Once you are there, click the Upload button (highlighted in red on the diagram).
2) You are now in the ShareFile portal. Before uploading your organizer (and associated tax documents), you will need to enter your name and email address. This information is used to track your submission, so please make sure to use your full legal name. Once you have entered this information, hit the Continue button (highlighted in red below).
3) After you have entered your name and email address, you should select your preparer s name from the drop-down menu (Exhibit A). If you do not know the name of your preparer, just pick the name that sounds most familiar, and our staff will ensure that your documents reach the correct person. Once you have selected your preparer, you may simply drag the file from its folder on your hard drive into the middle of the screen (where it says Drag files here ). A) B) 4) If you do not (or cannot) drag files into the center of the screen, click the green link that says Browse Files. (Exhibit B). This will open a window that lets you search your hard drive for the files you would like to upload, and is a more classic method of attaching a file for transmission.
5) You can add as many files as you d like to the upload portal. Whenever you have added a file, you will see it listed (Exhibit A). Once you have confirmed that all of the files you d like to send have been listed, click the Upload button in the bottom left of the screen (highlighted red in the diagram below). A)
6) After clicking the upload button, you will see a status bar indicating the progress of your upload (Exhibit A). Once your upload is complete, the screen will clear, and a message will appear that indicates your File(s) uploaded successfully (Exhibit B). Congratulations! You have finished submitting your organizer, and our staff can begin working on your returns. B) A)
