Data Sheet Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX600 Ethernet Switch 1 Gbit/s 10/6 and 10/6+2 PRIMERGY BX Connection Blades simplify network connectivity for PRIMERGY BX Blade Servers. They ensure fast and reliable access to data and storage networks. All Connection Blades are integrated within the BX Chassis and thus benefit from the fast midplane as well as from energy-efficient power and cooling. A wide range of Connection Blades are available to address current and next-generation I/O requirements for standardsbased Fibre Channel and Ethernet networks. PRIMERGY BX600 system units support up to four Connection Blades for flexible and scalable connectivity in order to respond to dynamic workload requirements. Today s technological specifications provide speeds of up to 4 Gb for FibreChannel connections and up to 10 Gb for Ethernet connections - per uplink port. All the features of Connection Blades are available, from highly functional self-developed models to brand versions from Cisco and Brocade - thus, all the possible requirements can be fulfilled. PRIMERGY BX600 Ethernet Switch 1 Gbit/s 10/6 and 10/6+2 The PRIMERGY BX600 Ethernet Switches 10/6 and 10/6+2 are integrated modules for use in the PRIMERGY BX600 chassis. The switch can be installed up to 4 times and in each case provides 10x 1Gbit downlink ports to the midplane for the connection to the server blades. The switches come in two variants with regard to the external ports: one provides 6x 1-Gb uplink ports (RJ45) and the second variant additionally provides 2x 10-Gbit uplink ports (XFP, CX4). The two 10 Gbit ports of the second variant can be connected by means of an XFP module and a CX4 cable. The switch provides a wide range of advanced performance-enhancing features. Multicast filtering provides support for real-time network applications. Port-based and tagged VLANs, plus support for automatic GVRP VLAN registration provide traffic security and efficient use of network bandwidth. QoS priority queuing ensures the minimum delay for moving real-time multi-media data across the network. Flow control eliminates the loss of packets due to bottlenecks. Page 1 / 6
