TEST COORDINATOR'S GUIDE (page 1 of 2) 2017 2018 Midterm Exams Administration window: Monday, December 18 Thursday, December 21, 2017. NO district-produced exams may be administered outside of this testing window. Per Bulletin #PD 18-062 DSCOS, students must be provided with an uninterrupted block of two hours (120 minutes) for each exam. EXAM MATERIALS MUST BE SECURE AT ALL TIMES PRIOR TO THE EXAM PERIOD, YOU ARE TO: Verify the contents of the testing box(es). Ensure that exams are ALWAYS in a secure, locked environment. Number the exams. Produce copies of the following items for each teacher: Test Administrator s (Classroom Teacher) Guide. Student directions for the appropriate exam. Provide directions to teachers for classroom administration of the exam. In your training of classroom teachers/test administrators, include: A copy of the Test Administrator s (Classroom Teacher) Guide. Student directions for the appropriate exam. Instructions to teachers indicating that they may view the exam during the testing period but may NOT keep/make copies of the exam nor keep any notes/work related to the exam. For the mathematics exams, provide clear instructions on which calculators are acceptable. Only FSA-approved calculators are permitted. The recommended calculators are TI-30Xa or Casio fx-260 fraction. Distribute exam materials to classroom teachers. TEST COORDINATOR'S GUIDE (page 2 of 2) 2017 2018 Midterm Exams DURING THE 4-DAY EXAM ADMINISTRATION WINDOW, YOU ARE TO: Grade student response forms, or assist classroom teachers as necessary. Please grade student response forms ASAP. This will expedite the publication of the district grading scale. At the end of each 120-minute testing period, collect and account for: ALL exams. Student response forms. Any support materials, including the signed Test Administration (Classroom Teacher) Guide. AFTER THE 4-DAY EXAM ADMINISTRATION WINDOW, YOU ARE TO: Bundle the exams by course, in numerical order. DO NOT return any pre-gridded student response forms. These are to be stored in a secure location on your campus for at least one year (longer if you wish). Box and return: ALL Exams, both used and unused. Any support materials. Hand deliver materials, including ALL exams and all signed Test Administration (Classroom Teacher) Guides to the Test Distribution Center, located in the District Support Center (McKesson Bldg.) All materials MUST be returned no later than Monday, January 8, 2018 by 4:00 PM. You may want to call ahead (PX 45155) to ensure someone is there to receive your materials. NO COPIES OF THE EXAMS ARE TO REMAIN AT THE SCHOOL. Student response forms are to be stored in a secure location at the school for at least one year. PLEASE NOTE!! If you choose to deliver exams to the TDC on Friday, December 22, 2017, the doors will only be open until noon. TEST ADMINISTRATOR'S (CLASSROOM TEACHER) GUIDE ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM THE TEACHER IS TO: Distribute exams. Read aloud to students the Student Directions, printed on the front cover of the exam booklet (printed inside the booklet for US History & World History). For the mathematics exams: Instruct students that the exam will have both multiple choice and multiselect items. Verify that students are using the correct calculator. Only FSA-approved calculators are permitted. Distribute to each student: One student response form. Have students check their form for correct information. Monitor the exam administration, circulating at all times. Maintain an appropriate testing environment throughout the 120-minute exam period. Provide NO explanation or clarification for any exam question. Teachers may view the exam but may NOT make copies nor keep any notes/work related to the exam. Collect all testing materials at the end of the allocated testing time. AFTER THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE EXAM YOU ARE TO: Assist with grading the student response forms, as needed. Return ALL testing materials to the school test coordinator IMMEDIATELY after scanning student response forms. Group each of the items below separately.
