SketchUp may be your preferred tool but is it the right option for your overall BIM journey from that first twinkle in the eye to project delivery. Once sketched in FormIt, a model can be synced with the A360 account and downloaded as an RVT file in order to continue working in Autodesk Revit. One of the core advantages of the free application is the content created can be directly imported into Revit itself, no loss of design intent or detail. For example FormIt models become Revit Mass Families, FormIt Levels become Revit Levels and FormIt models with materials applied import to Revit with materials intact for visualisation etc. FormIt models can be imported into the Revit Family editor and Revit Families can be exported to FormIt, and then in the future, converted back to the original Revit Family.
