Introduction 1 1 Introduction FaxAgent is a desktop application that works on Windows (Xp, Vista or 7) and Mac (10.5.8 or higher) operating systems. The purpose of this application is to allow users to easily send and receive faxes from their desktop. Your computer must not be running in order to receive the fax. 2 Requirements Make sure to obtain the following required information from your fax server administrator. 1. Fax server IP address. 2. Existing extension on the fax server (extension number and secret) with the In Manager Proxy feature set to Yes. 3 Installation Select your operating system: - Windows - Mac 3.1 Windows 1. Download FaxAgent from the Bicom Systems website www.bicomsystems.com. 2. Double click on the downloaded.exe file. 3. Pass through the FaxAgent installation setup wizard.

Installation 3.2 5 Mac 1. Download FaxAgent from the Bicom Systems website www.bicomsystems.com. 2. Double click on the downloaded.dmg file. 3. In the FaxAgent window drag the FaxAgent icon to the directory on the left side. 4. Just watch and wait until FaxAgent is copied to the application directory. Once copying is done, installation of the FaxAgent is done as well. 4 Configuration Select your operating system: - Windows - Mac
6 4.1 Windows 1. Navigate to Program Files: FaxAgent directory and click on the FaxAgent icon to start FaxAgent. 2. When started for the first time or when there are no configured fax servers, FaxAgent will ask the user to configure a fax server. Click on the OK button. 3. Click on the Add button.
Configuration 7 4. Make sure to complete all the server settings fields. Server name: enter the fax server name, for example: Bicom Systems. Hostname: (IP address): enter host name, example: voip.bicomsystems.com. Extension: enter extension number, example 1919. Secret: enter the secret of the extension entered in the extension field. PBXware Daemon Port: leave default value 10001. 5. Image shows Bicom Systems fax server added. Click on the Close button to close this window.
8 6. The following image shows the FaxAgent incoming faxes window and the status message in the left bottom corner saying Bicom Systems: Connected, Port monitor installed correctly meaning the fax server configuration went well. 7. Click on Tools then click on Add Fax Printer.
Configuration 9 8. Make sure to follow the instructions given in the Add Fax Printer window as they are very important. Click on the OK button. 9. Once Fax Printer has been added successfully click on the OK button. 4.2 Mac 1. Go to the application directory on your computer and start FaxAgent. 2. When started for the first time or when started and there are no configured fax servers, FaxAgent will ask the user to configure a fax server. Click on the OK button.

Sending/receiving faxes 13 - Receiving faxes 5.1.1 Sending faxes 1. Open any document on your computer. 2. In the top left corner click on File then click on Print. 3. In the Print window, select printer name PBXware Fax Printer as shown in the following image and click on OK button. 4. In FaxAgent - Send Fax window. 4.1 Enter the fax number to send to. 4.2 Select the fax server. 4.3 Click on the Send Fax button.
14 5. The following image shows the fax window sending fax process, you can click on the Cancel button to cancel sending the fax at any time. 6. Click on the OK button when the fax has been sent successfully. 5.1.2 Receiving faxes 1. Navigate to Program Files: FaxAgent directory and click on the FaxAgent icon to start FaxAgent. 2. Once you start FaxAgent, it will connect to the fax server and update incoming faxes list.

All received faxes will be waiting for you on the fax server. 5.2 Mac On your Mac: - Sending faxes - Receiving faxes 5.2.1 Sending faxes 1. Open any document on your computer. 2. In the top left corner click on File then click on Print. 3. In the Print window at the bottom left, click on the PDF button and select PBXware Fax Agent as shown in the following image.
16 4. In the FaxAgent - Send Fax window. 4.1 Enter a fax number to send to. 4.2 Select fax server. 4.3 Click on the Send Fax button. 5. The following image shows the fax window sending fax process, you can click on the Cancel button to cancel sending the fax at any time.
Sending/receiving faxes 17 6. Click on the OK button when fax has been sent successfully. 5.2.2 Receiving faxes 1. Go to the application directory on your computer and start FaxAgent. The incoming faxes window will show all received faxes. 2. Once you start FaxAgent it will connect to the fax server and update incoming faxes list. Please note: Your computer must not be running in order to receive faxes. All received faxes will be waiting for you on the fax server.
