Introduction Thank you for choosing ebox-u. It is an easy-to-use storage that allows a dedicated approach to storing a data. Safe Precaution Please read the safe precautions carefully before you using ebox-u. Ensure that you use the product correctly according to the procedure described in this guide. 1. The following sfety precautions are intended to remind you to operate the product safely and correctly. Please read and ensure that you understand them before you proceed to the other sections of this guide. Warning Do not attempt to disassemble or alter any part of the product that is not describe in this guide. Do not allow the product to come into contact with water or other liquids. In the event that water or other liquids enter the interior, immediately unplug the product from the computer. Continued use of the product may result in fire or electrical shock. Please consult your product distributor or the closest support center. Do not handle the product near a heat source or expose them to direct flame or heat. Never place the product in close to equipment generating storage electromagnetic fields. Exposure to strong magnetic fields may cause malfunctions or corrupt data. Installation Before installing Hardware Disk Warming Please unplug the power cord before installing. It may exposure to strong magnetic fields and malfunctions or damage. Installing Hardware Disk Please follow up HDD User Manuel. Hareware normally set up as Master, but please be ntoed it my change when connect to PC. [ Example] HITACHI made HDD 5
Connect with S-ATA hardware drive. Please make sure you connect properly If only install one HDD, please set S-ATA covert adapter as Master. If connect two S-ATA HDD,Please set second S-ATA convert adapter as SLAVE 6
Fasten HDD with screws 3:Unfasten the screws on the back of the TERA TOWER 4:Remove left side panel 7
When install two or more HDD,set upper HDD us Master and lower HDD as Salve. Please refer to the diagram. 5:Remove front panel,and pull out the AC cable and flat cable Insert HDD in trun from up to down. 6:Press the rubbers on each side to fasten the HDD 8
7:Connect AC cable and flat cable to HDD Please connect properly incase of any damage. AC cable Flat Cable 8:Fasten left side panel. 9
Power on and off Power ON Press once, power will turn on Power OFF Press power for 3 seconds If auto power effective, Tera tower will automatically on when PC operating. 10
Sleep Mode Sleep button Press sleep button for 3 seconds, HDD and Fan will stop operating and Sleep Mode LED light will be off. If data was been stored to one of HDD, the Sleep Mode LED light will be off. Please noted if HDD temperature is under 40 0 C, fan won t operating. 11

Auto power setting Switch power button on the back to effective, auto power mode is setting. When PC operating, Tera Tower will automatically on.., 14
Partitioning & Formatting Please be aware that this will destroy all your existing data on the drive, so make sure you have backup! This step is usually only required the first time you install the HDD or you have a factory new HDD. Due to OS security control, in windows 2000/ windows XP you must be logged in with local administrator rights to run the Disk partition. Select My Computer then right click Disk Managemen Initialize and covert dist wizard Click NEXT Select Disk to Covert Click NEXT Complete the Initialized and covert Disk Wizard Click Finish Close the window. 15
Disk partition If HDD shows unallocated, the HDD is not formatting. Click the right button of mouse and open the window, select New Partition Welcome to New Partition Wizard Click Next 16
Select Partition Type Select Primary Partition Select Next Specify partition size Select Next Assign Drive Letter or Path Select Assign the following drive letter M 17
Appear Format Partition windows Please follow the Partition Wizard to set up. When all sets,click Next New Partition Wizard Finish click Finish Modify and detach HDD since PC is running 18
Unplug Procedure Single click right mouse button on the taskbar icon. Use Windows of Safely remove hardware Click Hardware Device twice Select mass memory storage device select STOP Stop a Hardware Device and click OK Appear Save to remove hardware window, click OK 19
If install 2 or more HDD during standard mode, when remove one of HDD, others will be deleted. Warning To assure no data will be lost, always follow the unplug procedure. If not, data could be lost and the following message will show up!! 20
Macintosh Usage Mac OS X is using Mac OS Standard driver MacOS9.x doesn t have to format in advance Mac OS is using OS Standard Disk Utility to format Start Disk Utility Disk Utility located at application> Utility It shows that can be formatted disk summary On the left side ebox-u shows xx GB Century xx as the connected HDD capacity Click any of ebox-u Shows the connected disk information Click the upper パーティション Partition tab,it can change the disk of setting Volume mode :Select the disk amount that you need It can divide of 8 Volume block :Shows divided condition of media Volume information :Volume information change, ボリューム方式 Volume mode is going to change the selected disk information In ボリューム方式 Volume mode selects other disks,then change every disk setting Name :It can change the disk name that you want to make. If you don t give a name, it shows Name unsetting 21
Formatting :Select the disk the you want to format Like: Mac OS Standard Mac OS extend UNIX file management system free capacity,please select Standard Mac OS Standard or Mac OS extend Size :Can change the desire for making size of the Volume Option :Make sure install the MacOS9 driver, then it will be install in driver of MacOS9 Divide :The selected disk divide by the same capacity Delete :Delete the selected disk Reduce :Reduce the last change After all decided then Click OK Warming Appears. Proceed making, please click パーティション Divide the disk,if you want to delete it After making operation, it will shows on the desk If you want to delete, please delete it in the Dock of Trash can Within the condition of Standard mode to connect with plural HDD,If one of them delete, then it will delete all of the HDD 22
Troubleshooting Explain how to solve the most common error Can not recognize Make sure all cables and AC cord has been connected properly Make sure power LED light is on. Make sure HDD S-ATA convert adapter setup properly Can not operate OS Don t support OS operation Power LED light is on, but HDD doesn t work Please make sure all cables connect properly. If it connects beside provided cables, it may cause any damage. Therefore, please use provided cables Transmission speed is slow If connect USB1.1 interface, the speed will be 1MB/sec. When Windows2000 XP is formatting,the dialog box appear Unfinished formatting,then it can not be formatted Windows2000 XP can not format HDD over 32GB by FAT32 Please format by NTFS When using different capacity brandhdd,can we still using Combine mode? YES When system is damaging on Combine mode,is it possible to keep the data? NO. The system is different with RAICO. That s because the filed of HDD data combine, It may be read from disk has the data in the front In this condition,just only take out disk 6to disk 8,It may Read the data from disk 1to disk 5 In this condition, all the disk can not be read 23
