Members of NLIST program can access more than 1800 e-books available on Cambridge Books Online paltform. Browse Cambridge Book Online offers subject wise browse options on its home page. All books available through Cambridge Book Online are divided into five main categories namely 1) Humanities; 2) Social Sciences; 3) Science and Engineering; 4) Medicine; and 5) English Language Teaching. Click on any of the subject category under Browse By Subject option as shown below in the screen shot. For example, click on Humanities. It shows browse by subject page with the expanded subject area in Humanities. Select a subject. For example, click on Philosophy. * Do not log on to the URL directly. It will further display an expanded browse-tree to show the sub-subjects under the subject Philosophy. Select a sub-subject. For example, click on Ethics. User will get a list of all e-books available on ethics. Click on title of interest to view home page of e-book. Navigation tool to jump on different pages. Search Cambridge Book Online Provides two types of search options namely 1) Quick Search and Advanced Search. Quick / Faceted Search Quick search is available on the top right hand-side of home page and on every page of the site. Using this option, user can quickly search on desired topic. User may search using a single word, group of words or exact terms. This search option is also called Faceted Search because it will search across Cambridge Book Online, Cambridge Journals Online and Cambridge Library Collection. It searches for e-book and Chapter metadata, snippets of the book, article metadata and article content. Enter Term Advanced Search Advanced Search provides option to conduct more complicated searches using multiple fields like author, title, subject, print publication year, ISBN etc. Users can also use Boolean operators to limit their search. It also allows users to refine their search to include or exclude search results from Cambridge Books Online, Cambridge Library Collection or Cambridge Journals Online. For example: Select the database Cambridge Book Online Select Title / Volume in the first drop-down menu; Select Contains in the qualifiers drop-down; Enter keyword ancient in the search text field; Select AND in the operators drop-down; Now, further select Title / Volume in the criteria drop-down; Select Contains in the qualifiers drop-down; Enter keyword anger in the search text field. Search Result Page Search result page displays e-book chapters on ancient anger. It also provides various options to further refine the search. Various options available on search page are as follow: 1. It displays number of search results 2. Highlighted search words found in context 3. Click on title of the book to open the e-book. 4. User can sort their result by relevancy, title, author etc. 5. User can use filters available in the left panel to narrow their search by book chapters, publisher, subject, series etc. 6.
