These updates will keep FasTrack Pro product and pricing information up to date and will also provide occasional fixes and/or enhancements to the software. The responsibility of installing and setting up FasTrack Pro belongs to the distributor. The Distributor suserid and PASSWORD should not be given to the body shop! This USERID and PASSWORD combination is your key to important features that need to remain secure to protect your investment. System Requirements: Intel Pentium processor, 133 MHz Pentium compatible CPU (or better) Windows 2000, XP, or Vista required for utilizing SoMo650 Mobile Computer 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM absolute minimum, more memory generally increases performance 16MB of RAM 25MB of free disk storage space CD-ROM drive Super VGA monitor (supporting 65,000 colors) Windows Compatible Inkjet or Laser printer (Preferred for bar coding printing) It is preferred that the shop has an Internet connection for email or file transfer Distributor Installation of FasTrack Pro v1.0 If you are upgrading from a previous version of FasTrack please skip to page 14. DO NOT USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR AN UPDATE OF AN EXISTING INSTALLATION! These are the basic instructions for a New Install of FasTrack Professional Version 1.0, please read the entire instructions through prior to installing. You should note that with older systems this process will take some time, easily 60 minutes or more, for the much slower systems to complete the entire operation. It is important to set aside ample time when the system will not be interrupted in the process. After the close of the business day may be the safest time. Backing up the existing system prior to update is highly recommended. Important Notices: Please Read Before Continuing Auveco licenses the use of FasTrack only through qualified Auveco distributors. THE DISTRIBUTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING THE SOFTWARE and is the first source of information, training and the supplying of regular updates to his FasTrack customers. The FasTrack Pro Operations Manual is located on the CD in the Documents file folder. Please print and read the FasTrack Pro Operations Manual before proceeding! 3

Before you begin, close down all other Windows applications and disable any screen savers you have running. (Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel and double click the display icon. Click on the Screen Saver tab and set screen saver to none. Close all windows and return to your windows desktop. New Install STEPS 1. Insert the FasTrack Pro v1.0 CD-ROM into drive. The AUTORUN feature of Windows should bring up the installation procedure screen as shown. 2. Select Full Installation and follow the instructions shown on the screen. Make sure you select Repair IF the InstallShield Wizard Screen shown is displayed 4

You may need to restart the computer to register the FasTrack Pro software into the Windows Registry. Note: Every new registered FasTrack Pro installation needs to be branded! If this is not done, FasTrack Pro will print invoices marked as Demo. 3. After installation, sign in to FasTrack Pro using the Manager s sign in and password which is provided in the cover letter. 4. From the Main Menu, select File Maintenance, then select Brand System and follow the instructions to brand the FasTrack Pro installation with the body shop s name AND the distributor s name which will appear on each invoice along with other FasTrack Pro documents. 5. From the Main Menu, select File Maintenance, then select Update OEM Pricing to load the current item list with OEM List prices into FasTrack Pro. 6. If a Palm based scanner or the FT-SCAN2 (Socket SoMo650) scanner is being used with FasTrack Pro please refer to the instruction sheets that accompanied the unit or go to the Auveco website and download the current PDF documents. 7. When installation is finished, remove the CD and have the body shop store it in a safe location. Close all running programs and restart the computer if necessary to register the FasTrack Pro software into the Windows Registry. 8. The body shop can now sign in to FasTrack Pro using the appropriate sign in and password. FasTrack Pro is now ready to use! Installing FasTrack Pro to Server: 1. Map a drive letter to the shared network resource that has enough free space to contain FasTrack Pro folder (Preferably Y: ) Note: All FasTrack Pro users should have full access to this folder location. 2. Run the above FasTrack Pro installation procedure from a workstation, but redirect the installation to the mapped network drive, instead of Drive C: (for instance Y:\FasTrack Pro ). 3. Restart the workstation. 4. Create a shortcut to the FasTrack Pro.exe which will now be located in Y:\FasTrack Pro to each workstation. Adding Items and Reference Numbers: Many distributors want to use their own numbering system instead of or in conjunction with FasTrack Pro. This is done through a system of reference numbers that can be quickly applied to all of your body shops. FasTrack Pro also allows you to add non-auveco items to the database (Shop rags, gloves, etc ). Adding a New item 1. From the Main Menu, click the Item Information button 2. From the Inventory File Management screen click the Add button 3. Input your part number into both the Auveco # and Item/Ref # fields 4. Add a description and fill out any of the other fields you find useful 5. You can mark this item for either On-Demand (label prints one time and is automatically unmarked) or Bin Label (stays marked: use this option if you plan on printing more than one set of labels now or in the future) 6. Click Save 5

Adding a Reference Number This can be done two ways: Option 1: For adding a single number 1. From the Main Menu, click the Item Information button 2. From the Inventory File Management screen, click on the Lookup tab 3. Enter the Auveco # you want to reference into the Auveco # field 4. Click the Search button 5. Click the edit button on the Inventory File Management screen 6. Change the information in the Item/Ref# field to your part number 7. Click Save Option 2: For adding a batch of numbers 1. From the Inventory File Management Screen click on the Ref# button 2. Enter the Auveco#, Hit Tab 3. Enter a reorder point (optional), Hit Tab 4. Enter a cost (optional), Hit Tab 5. Enter your reference # Hit Tab 6. As each line is completed you will be asked if you want to save that line. Choose Yes, if you are sure you entered it correctly. 7. Repeat until you have entered all of your numbers 8. At this point you may print a list of your reference numbers to review by pressing the Print List button. 9. If you are positive that you have entered the correct information, click the Post Records button. Note: You may find item numbers that are excluded from use as Item/Ref numbers. These include existing Auveco numbers as well as some part numbers used by our competitors. After completing either option, you should reindex/pack your database. Steps to reindex/pack 1. Return to the Main Menu 2. Click on the File Maintenance button 3. Click OK at the 2 prompts 4. Click the Reindex/Pack All Files button 5. Click OK at both prompts Saving Items and Reference Numbers to Disk or File: If you would like to use the same set of reference numbers at multiple body shops, FasTrack Pro allows you to save your system of numbers to a floppy disk or file. 1. From the Main Menu click the File Maintenance button 2. Click OK at both warning prompts 3. Select OK or Cancel when prompted. Selecting Cancel creates the file in the C:\avft_data directory. This file can then be copied to a CD-ROM. FasTrack Pro will copy your reference information to the disk or file and you can load it at your other shops as explained in the next section. 6

Loading Item and Reference Number from a Disk: 1. From the Main Menu, click the File Maintenance button 2. Click the Update Reference File button 3. When prompted, insert your reference number diskette or CD 4. When the update is complete, reindex/pack the database (refer to the Adding Items and Reference section for instructions) Uninstalling FasTrack Pro: 1. From the Windows Control Panel (My Computer > Control Panel) click Add/Remove Programs 2. Locate and click Auveco s FasTrack Pro for Windows 3. Click Change/Remove 4. Delete the FASTRACK directory and the AVFT_DATA directories and restart the PC if necessary to register these changes to the Windows Registry Body Shop Information Introduction: Auveco s FasTrack Pro for Windows is a tool that allows body shops to recover the cost of fasteners used in collision repair and also provides powerful inventory control and tracking functions.
