1. New references The following licenses will be introduced with the version 3.0 to enable the new functionality and capabilities of SAUTER Vision Center Reference table: Reference YZP480F200 YZP480F999 YZP481F200 YZP481F210 YZP481F220 YZP481F230 YZP485F201 YZP487F201 YZP483F300 YZP480F300 Description Basic license 500 Address with maintenance Engineering License with maintenance 100 Objects with maintenance 1.000 Objects with maintenance 10.000 Objects with maintenance 25.000 Objects with maintenance Basic Energy Management with maintenance OPC UA Client for SVC with maintenance novanet OPC server NG License key for VM The references marked in red are new licenses. Remark: Licenses without maintenance contract are discontinued and replaced by the licenses with maintenance contract as described in the chapter 4.4.1. Advice about the license key for VM With the previous versions of SVC, a hard lock was mandatory in a virtual environment. The reference YZP480F300 allows the usage of SVC on a virtual environment but without the license dongle (hard lock). When that reference is ordered, the following information must be sent per mail at this address: logistik.support@ch.sauter-bc.com Project name Installation name Customer name This information is mandatory. The licenses cannot be generated as long as this information is not available. The activation process must be started with this license file, otherwise the license dongle will be necessary for the activation of the license. Remark: The reference YZP480F000 (Bind license (ticket ID)) allows the delivery of all licenses in one unique file instead of individual ticket files. Remark: The price of the objects package has been reviewed, all necessary information is available in the PM. DB-ID: 819658 Rev.: 01 / Vers.: 01 3 / 8
Remark on the novanet solution: The purchase of the OPC UA client and the novanet OPC server NG is called the novanet solution. The price of the bundle is discounted from about 40 % compared to the individual prices. 2. Detailed explanation about calculation method The objects philosophy adopted by SVC has the big advantage to reduce the number of license token needed. Indeed, our legacy systems use one license token per data point, this is not the case in SVC. For example, the use of high limit information was previously counted but is available for free in SVC. This clearly reduces the number of objects of your project with an average factor of 3 (based on the average data points used in mid-size projects.) The system provides 6 types of objects BMS Object with physical connections Historical, -- Object saved in SVC Calculated, -- Result of a calculation Inherited, -- Used in EMM without calculation System, -- Object generated by the system Meters Object with special Counter features Which objects are counted in the licenses? BMS objects are licensed. Historical objects are licensed. Calculated objects are only licensed if used in EMM. Meters are licensed. Inherited objects are NOT licensed. System objects are NOT licensed. No dedicated license reference will be created for the new objects. They will be counted in the regular object license. The term not licensed means that no object will be counted which results in no reduction of license token. Remarks on BACnet special objects: All special objects are not licensed. License model in comparison to novapro Open Let's do a comparison based on an npo and SVC project. We will calculate for both projects the number of license tokens that are needed to display the same information. Project definition The project contains 3.000 BACnet objects connected to the software. All data have to be set in history (which isn t a very good idea). The pictures display also additional properties. To summarize the use case, we need 6.000 license tokens in SVC and about 6.000 to 9.000 tokens for npo (Object necessary to manage high, low limit and status flags). The cost advantage has to be highlighted. DB-ID: 819658 Rev.: 01 / Vers.: 01 5 / 8
4. Licenses with maintenance contract 4.1 General This software maintenance contract governs the fundamental services and obligations between the National SAUTER Sales organization (hereinafter referred to as NSO) and the SAUTER head office (hereinafter referred to as SBA) in relation to the maintenance and support of the SAUTER Vision Center software and options (hereinafter referred to as SVC). The software maintenance terms define the services for support, software updates and corrections / patches. Software maintenance is acquired with the license and guarantees access to support, software corrections and upgrades. To complete the picture, it should be mentioned that these regulations are to be viewed as a back-up for the maintenance/service contract of the NSO with its customers, and the NSO can act freely in the design of its service contracts. 4.2 License without maintenance contract All SVC licenses as mentioned in section 1 are available with included maintenance contract. Starting with version 3.0 licenses without maintenance contract are discontinued (YZP48xF1xx). 4.3 Scope of service for maintenance contract 4.3.1 Software maintenance For SVC licenses, SBA provides the following services exclusively to the NSO. Customers of the NSO who have acquired an SVC license do not have any direct claims against SBA. With the software maintenance services, SBA provides the following services to the NSOs for registered SVC licenses: Software patches and service releases (fault corrections) Software upgrades (new versions with expanded functions) Software patches and software upgrades are available by SAUTER. They will be downloadable directly from a SBA site or available by the NSO's responsible. 4.3.2 Support SBA undertakes to provide the following services to the NSO as and when required: Support via the established QMP process: If there are any problems with SVC, the authority responsible at the NSO for the 0- and 1st-level support may create a ticket and escalate it for processing to the Technical Help Desk in SBA. The QMP process also includes offering advice and support in the analysis of the problem. Support in case of SVC software bugs: If the analysis of the problem reveals that the bugs are in the SVC software, workarounds and/or correction programs shall be supplied if available. SVC training sessions for support staff at the NSOs are offered as part of the SAUTER Academy training program to ensure 0- and 1st-level support within the NSOs. For these training sessions a training fee is applied. The support services are guaranteed exclusively for the current software version. Older versions can be utilized. To be able to make use of support when there are problems with older versions, the SVC installation needs to be updated to the current version. The software maintenance services are provided during a standby period. The standby period is a time period during which malfunction reports can be submitted to the contractor. 4.4 Maintenance regulations and prices for SVC 4.4.1 Contract period and maintenance fee Software maintenance is 18% per year of the license price, including all of the modules and options, and is invoiced annually in advance. The contract period of the annual software maintenance contract starts on the first of January after the activation of the license key and is automatically extended by a further year unless notice to terminate is given at least three months before the end of the yearly contract period. Notice of termination must be given in writing. The SVC management console includes a function to send a mail to the NSO responsible for maintenance contract. Software maintenance is included in the SVC license price for at least 1 calendar year. 4.4.2 Regulations outside of software maintenance Support and software (patches, updates) are available only for valid software maintenance, i.e. outside of software maintenance; no updates and no patches can be obtained. Software upgrades and additions (modules, options etc.) require valid software maintenance. 4.4.3 Renewal of the software maintenance contract - YZP486F200 Backdating the software maintenance contract up until the original expiry date at a charge of 3% of the license price per month plus one year's maintenance for the subsequent year in accordance with Para 4.1, Item 1. 4.5 Information on contract periods The contract period of a software maintenance contract begins in each case on first of January following the activation of the license key. In general, this date is to be held in the NSO for possible terminations or extensions with regard to the customer of the NSO. The date can be viewed at any time via the SVC management console (http://.../visioncentermanager/). If further deliveries for data point extensions or modules are available, the date of activation of the basic license has to be taken into account. 4.6 Warranty SBA shall provide the maintenance services agreed in this contract through trained personnel and in compliance with the usual diligence applicable to its operations with the objective of maintaining the relevant software in a usable condition and remedying any errors or deficiencies in the programs. SBA cannot guarantee that the software mentioned in this contract can be used with all types of data, information systems and programs without interruption or malfunction in any combination requested by the NSO and its customers; nor can SBA guarantee that the rectification of a program fault will exclude the occurrence of other program faults. Any other warranty is excluded. DB-ID: 819658 Rev.: 01 / Vers.: 01 7 / 8
4.7 Liability SBA shall bear liability solely in the event of intent and gross negligence, subject to the following provisions. Liability for ordinary negligence is excluded. SBA excludes, as far as it is legally possible, its own liability and that of any sub-contractors for claims arising from improper or delayed fulfilment of a duty to co-operate on the part of the NSO, for the recovery of data and for indirect or consequential damage, such as additional expenses, unachieved savings, loss of profits or third-party claims. SBA and any sub-contractors shall not be liable in the event that they are prevented from fulfilling their obligations under the terms of this contract properly or on time, for reasons for which they are not responsible. The deadlines scheduled for fulfilment shall be postponed by a period that is equivalent to the period during which the aforementioned circumstances (for which SBA was not responsible) prevailed. SBA and any sub-contractors shall be liable to pay damages regardless of the legal justification only to the annual fixed level of compensation. This does not apply if there is liability in cases of intent or gross negligence, or due to injury to the body, life or health of a person. 4.8 Validity These regulations come into force immediately and will be applied starting with the version 3.0. As these rules are currently in use, there will be no change for all licenses already activated.
