Unlike a static image that can be found on the internet, your digital badge is the total package a hyperlinked image that leads to a webpage that showcases your achievements. See for yourself click one of the badges above. You may be tempted to just copy and paste your badge image into your signature or website, but if you do, you are shortchanging yourself. The nature of the digital badge is a transparent credentialing that showcases both how you earned the badge and why it s important. By following these instructions, you will ensure that your digital badge is hyperlinked to get the credit you deserve. 1. Creating a Credly account and accepting your digital badge 1.1 If you have your badge issuance email handy, follow these steps: Open the badge email and select Save & Share. Choose a password you will remember and click Sign up now. Please DO NOT change your name or email address on this form. Submitting your password will automatically accept this badge into your profile. Under the My Credit tab, click ALL > Manage> Make Trusted Issuer next to the NWFA logo to accept all future badges from NWFA automatically.
1.2. If you do not have your badge issuance email, follow these steps: Visit https://credly.com. Click Create Account in the upper-right hand corner (NOTE: you will only have to create an account once). Using the email address you have on file with the NWFA, create an account for an individual. Return to your inbox and verify your account with Credly via their verification email. Return to your browser and refresh the webpage with your Credly account. Under the My Credit tab, visit your Inbox. Your badges will be waiting for you. Accept all of your badges. To make badges from the NWFA automatically accepted moving forward, click Make Trusted Issuer on the right-hand side before accepting.
2. Sharing your digital badge There are several ways to share the digital badges you have earned. The most common places to share your badges are listed below. If you want to share your badge in a location not specified below, please contact education@nwfa.org. 2.1 How to share your badge on social media Sign in to your Credly account and navigate to the My Credit tab. Hover on the badge you want to share on social media and look for an icon that looks like the less than symbol.
Click that symbol to pull up this menu of options: To share on Facebook: o Click the Facebook icon from the menu above. o Sign in to your account, if you aren t already. o Write a custom message for your Facebook post, and click Post to Facebook.
To share on Twitter: o Click the Twitter icon from the menu above. o Sign in to your Twitter account, if you aren t already. o Write a custom message, if desired. Make sure that you do not type anything into the URL text or your badge will not properly link. Click Tweet to share. To share on LinkedIn: o Click the LinkedIn icon from the menu above. o Choose either Add to profile or Share. o For Add to profile : Make sure you are signed into your LinkedIn account before clicking this option. Click Add to profile. On the window that pops up, click Save. Scroll down to the Certifications portion of your profile. You can edit this information to include pertinent info, such as your CP license #, if applicable. This is now saved on your LinkedIn profile and will appear for your connections to see.
o For Share on LinkedIn : In the window that pops up, write a custom message, if desired. Choose to share with either Public (anyone can view) or Connections (only those you ve connected with will be able to view). Make sure Share an update is selected. You can also choose to share with a LinkedIn group or send the notification of your badge to individual connections on LinkedIn. Click Share. 2.2 How to embed your badge in your email signature Included below are instructions for Gmail and Outlook, two of the most common email providers. If you use a different email service, please follow the general rule of embedding an image in the signature and then hyperlinking it to your badge URL. If you need assistance troubleshooting, please contact education@nwfa.org. 2.2.1: Gmail On the My Credit page, locate the badge you wish to embed and click on the blue badge title. On the badge page that appears, right-click on the badge and select Copy image URL or Copy image address, depending on your browser. Open your Gmail account in a separate browser tab and click on the settings icon (shaped like a gear). Click Settings from the menu that appears.
Under the General tab, scroll down to the Signature area. Click into the signature text box and position your cursor where you want your badge to appear. Click on the Insert image icon. In the Image URL field, paste (CTRL+V) the badge URL you just copied. Click OK. Highlight and select the badge to resize, if desired. Highlight and select the badge image and click on the Link icon (looks like a chain). Return to your Credly badge page and copy the URL from the search bar Return to your Gmail and paste this URL into the Web address field.
Scroll and click Save changes. This badge will now appear, and be hyperlinked, in any outgoing email that includes a signature. 2.2.1: Outlook On the My Credit page, locate the badge you wish to embed and click on the blue badge title. On the badge page that appears, right-click on the badge and select Save image as. Rename it and save it somewhere convenient, such as your desktop. Open Outlook and open a new message (CTRL+N). Under the Insert tab, click Picture. Locate where you saved the badge image file, click it, and click Insert. o Re-size your badge to the size you want it to be in your signature. Highlight this image, right-click, and click copy. Under the Insert tab, click Signature, then select Signatures Paste your badge image (CTRL+V) into your signature. Return to your Credly badge page and highlight your badge URL in the search bar. Copy this URL (CTRL+C).
Return to Outlook. Highlight your badge image and click the Link icon (looks like a chain with a globe behind it). Paste the URL into the Address bar and click OK. Your badge will now appear in any outgoing message that includes a signature.
2.3 How to embed your badge on your website or blog Sign in to your Credly account and navigate to the My Credit tab. Hover on the badge you want to share on social media and look for an icon that looks like the less than symbol. Click that symbol to pull up this menu of options:
Click on Embed. Click Copy Embed Code. On the administrator side of your website or blog, paste (CTRL+V) this coding wherever you want to embed your badge. NOTE: Make sure that the HTML editing function is turned on in your text box, if applicable.
2.4 How to download your badge file for use in other marketing materials Sign in to your Credly account and navigate to the My Credit tab. Hover on the badge you want to share on social media and look for an icon that looks like the less than symbol. Click that symbol to pull up this menu of options: Click on Download. Select the Save in open badge format box. Click Download. This file will now appear in the downloads folder of your computer. This image can be uploaded to be used on business cards, letterhead, and more.
