DATASHEET FUJITSU SPARC ENTERPRISE T5440 SERVER SPARC Enterprise Server are proven UNIX based computers based on the latest and most performant and reliable SPARC processor architecture and running the worldwide number 1 UNIX operating environment Solaris 10. The new Fujitsu SPARC Enterprise server T5440 like T5140 and T5240 using the new UltraSPARC T2 Plus chip-multithreading (CMT) processor - is setting new standards in the market for network centric computing, energy efficiency and compute density, providing the ideal platform particularly for larger web and application tier services and for online transaction processing and technical workloads. This new model extends the existing CMT platform to 4-socket multiprocessor systems. Built-in, no-cost virtualization capabilities in the server also enable customers to easily maximize system utilization, helping to lower the cost of delivering new IT services. SPARC Enterprise T5440 The model T5440 is the first model in the T5xxx line incorporating up to 4 UltraSPARC T2 Plus processors with 1.2 GHz, 1.4 GHz or 1.6 GHz (each with 8 cores enabled). Each of the cores can issue up to 8 threads simultaneously, in total up to 256 threads. The T5440 model also offers in a compact 4 RU form factor - up to 512 GB memory (64 DIMM slots), 4 hot-plug disk bays and 8 PCIe slots, two 10 GbE plus two 1 GbE onboard network interfaces. The Solaris 10 Operating System and the logical domain feature are preinstalled and provide a highly flexible, efficient and secure application environment. RAS features include redundant power supplies, fans, core offlining, extended ECC protection and the Integrated Lights Out Management (ILOM) tool to enable the server to be integrated and managed within industry-standard management frameworks.
