An adjustable brightness value for example can also be recalled directly via the preselection buttons. The function Value preselection can also be used for other applications such as for servomotors or ventilation flaps. Preselection buttons It is possible to send adjustable 8 bit values immediately on operation via preselection buttons. If several preselection buttons are operated at the same time, a value that has been set for this push button combination is sent. Twelve push button combination values can be parameterised. Rocker The rocker can be used for switching, shutter control and cyclical dimming functions. Switch: When the rocker is pressed, the corresponding signal is sent (/Off/Toggle) with no distinction made between a long or short push button action. The signal is therefore already sent when the rocker is pressed. The distinction between whether an or Off signal is sent, is dependent on whether the upper or lower of the rocker has been pressed and which parameters have been assigned. If the rocker is set to Toggle mode, the rocker sends the inverse signal to that of the object after a short push button action. The object and the switch object should therefore be linked. Shutter: A distinction is made between a long and short push button action. After a brief operation of the rocker, a switching telegram is sent which adjusts the louvres or stops the movement of the shutters. After a long push button action, the shutter is either raised or lowered depending on the parameter settings. The distinction between whether an Up or Down command is sent, is dependent on the operation of the rocker (upper or lower ) and the parameter settings. When assigning parameters it is possible to choose Upper : Up, Lower : Down or vice versa. This parameter makes it possible to control skylights and security gates etc. in both directions. In this case the Up command corresponds to the Off command and the Down command corresponds to the command. Dimming: A distinction is made between a long and a short push button action. A brief operation of the rocker sends a corresponding switching command (, Off or Toggle). If the push button is pressed for a longer period (the duration of which can be set), a dimming command is sent. The functions of Dimming with stop telegram and Dimming with cyclical sending are available. If Dimming with stop telegram is selected, a long push button action sends a command to the dimming object to dim by 100%. When the rocker is released, a stop command is sent. Siemens AG 240403, 6 pages Technical Manual Electrical Installation Technology Siemens AG 2002 Update: http://www.siemens.de/installationstechnik 3.15.3.1.4/1

If Dimming with cyclical sending is selected, a dimming command is sent at set intervals for the duration of the push button action. It is also possible to assign parameters to the adjustment of the brightness value per dimming command (e.g. adjust by 1/8). LED display The first and third LED can be used for display or as an orientation light. In addition, if the operating mode 1 x dimming and 4 x value preselection is selected, all 4 LEDs are used for displaying the current preselection. Maximum number of group addresses: 8 Maximum number of associations: 9 Operating mode parameter 0 / Off Switch 1 Bit CWTU This object serves as a switching object for the rocker after a push button action. The default setting applies: pressing the upper sends an telegram while operation of the lower sends an Off telegram. If Toggle is selected, either an or an Off telegram is sent depending on the current switching state (toggling). 2 Preselection Value 1 Byte CWTU 3 Status (for LED Status 1 Bit CWU display) This object serves as a object and is only used for the receipt of switch signals. The object should be linked with the switch object of the dimming actuator. Switch parameter Operating mode 1 x dimming and 4 x value preselection 1 x shutter control and 4 x value preselection 1 x switching and 4 x value preselection The function of the rocker is defined via the Operating mode parameter, whereby the Value preselection function is not changed. The necessary objects appear in the object list depending on the parameter that has been assigned. The corresponding object types also change accordingly. Upper / Lower / Off Off / Toggle / Toggle This parameter defines the function of the upper and lower s. In the default setting, pressing the upper sends an telegram while pressing the lower sends an Off telegram. If the setting Toggle/Toggle is selected, either an or an Off telegram is sent when the rocker is pressed, depending on the current object (toggling).
