CLIENT AND WEB SERVICE Feature Description: Transport Layer Security 1.2 Support To enhance security, Transport Layer Security 1.2 support has been been added to the Transfer Manager 2017 Client and Web Service. As a carrier or agency management system, you are responsible for the safe and secure handling of insured data, and Transport Layer Security (TLS) enables you to accomplish this. TLS is a cryptographic protocol that provides privacy and data integrity over a network: TLS 1.2 is the most secure version of SSL/TLS protocols. Organizations that rely on older cryptographic protocols make their data vulnerable to known attacks. Additionally, an agency s management system must update to Transfer Manager 2017 to ensure that the transactions from carrier to Exchange to agency are TLS 1.2 compliant. Feature Description: Support file sizes over 64MB To accommodate carriers who need to send larger files securely through the IVANS network, you can send files over 64MB through Transfer Manager 2017 Client and Web Service. WEB SERVICE Feature Description: New RESTful API The Transfer Manager 2017 Web Service utilizes the new IVANS Exchange API, designed with RESTful architecture. This new API offers developers improved performance, scalability, and modifiability. As organizations become more connected via web services, simple and fast solutions becomes the expectation. RESTful technology support provides consistency and flexibility as it connect your systems to multiple external sources: Access resources using Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs). Manipulate resources using a set of simple, well-defined operations. Access content in a variety of formats, such as HTML, XML, plain text, and JSON. Interact with resources via a stateless communication protocol. IVANS EXCHANGE Because of the addition of TLS 1.2 support, when a mailbox is accessed using Transfer Manager (TM) Client or Web Service 2017, the mailbox undergoes an upgrade that splits the virtual mailbox from the mailbox authentication, and an IVANS System User is created that will access the virtual mailbox that it was bound to. These generated users are named after the mailbox they were derived from, and they continue to use the password that allowed access to the mailbox before upgrade. CARRIER Feature Description: Mailboxes tab renamed To support the Transfer Manager 2017 Client and Web Service upgrade, the Mailboxes tab on the Company Profile where your mailboxes are managed, the Mailboxes tab on the Company/Agency Profile where your mailboxes are managed, has been renamed Mailbox Setup. Additionally, the Mailbox grid indicates whether the mailbox has been upgraded to Transfer Manager 2017: in the new Upgraded column, a checkmark displays if the mailbox has been upgraded; if the mailbox has not been upgraded, nothing displays in the Upgraded column. MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Feature Description: Mailbox Configuration page update To support the Transfer Manager 2017 upgrade, the Mailbox Configuration page on the Administration tab has been updated to indicate whether a mailbox has undergone the upgrade to Transfer Manager 2017 Client and Web Service: if the mailbox has been upgraded, the Migrated to Exchange File Transfer API checkbox is checked. Additionally, when the mailbox is upgraded, the Bad Logins and Set Password buttons no longer display. In their place, the IVANS System Users section displays at the bottom of the screen. In this section, you can select from a list of IVANS System Users that have access to the current mailbox, and do the following: Activate/Deactivate the selected user s access to the current mailbox. Unlock the selected user s account. Account locks occur when the user provides an invalid password three times. Set the password for the selected user s account. PAGE 4
