EZ-SPKDVR Covert Speaker Digital Video Recorder Product Description The EZ-SPKDVR is a covert hidden video recording system mounted within a set of fullyfunctional PC Speakers. This revolutionary system allows for discreet monitoring of any home, office, or workstation. The unit records directly to an SD Memory card mounted in the top of the speaker housing the camera, while the camera itself is hidden within the body of the speaker. Initial Connection The first thing that must be done with your new covert Speaker Cameras is to connect them to a TV. They do not need to stay connected, this is only needed for the first-time initial setup. Two speakers are included with the kit. One speaker (Sound Controller) has volume adjustment knobs on the side. The other speaker (DVR) has the camera and recorder built into it. For the first-time setup, you only need to use the DVR Speaker. T o begin, Take the Power/Video cable and plug the yellow and white RCA plugs into a TV. Take the power adapter (Included with your camera) and plug it into the red connector on that cable. Lastly, plug the cable into the back of the DVR speaker (On the right-hand side). The green LED light should immediately light up. If it does not, press the red Power button on the back of the speaker to turn the speaker on. Once the speaker is on, change your TV to the input you have the speaker connected to. For specific instructions on this step, please consult your TV s user guide or manual. At this point, you should have an image on the screen showing you the video from the camera. At the top of the screen you will see the camera date and time. Below that to the right you will see the camera battery life indicator, and below that is the SD card memory status.

The Battery Life Indicator will show as a green battery on the screen. The more of the battery is filled in, the more charge the battery has. When power is lost to the camera, the indicator turns white. The camera can function for up to 2 hours on battery power alone. The SD card memory status will slowly fill with green to indicate how much space is being used on the SD memory card. When it reaches full, the system will begin to overwrite old recordings/images if the overwrite option is turned on. Initial Setup Now that you have an image from the camera, you can enter the camera menu and set it up. The camera is very easy to configure. The main menu has two options System allows you to configure how the main screen looks, by changing date/time, or whether or not the memory indicator is turned on or not. Function will affect how the camera actually behaves; it controls features such as motion detection, overwriting old recordings, and whether the camera is recording video or snapshots (Still-frame images). We will go through the options of each menu in turn. The first is the System Setup menu. Capacity will allow you to turn the capacity display on the main screen on or off. It does not affect recording at all. Delete will take you to the clip deletion menu. From there you can select which clips or images you wish to manually remove.

Date Time will let you adjust the current date and time to match your local settings. TV Output allows you to select the video format you are using, NTSC or PAL. North American TV sets use NTSC, so if you are not sure which setting to use please leave it at NTSC by default. Next is the Function Setup Menu. Motion Detect tells the camera to record whenever it sees motion on the screen. Overwrite sets whether or not the DVR will erase old pictures/video to make room when the memory gets full. Capture Mode will tell the DVR what type of recording to make (Still-frame Image or 10s Video Clip) when recording using Motion Detection. And lastly, Camera Power will allow you to specify whether or not video playback can be done when the camera is operating using the built-in Lithium Ion Battery. Enabling Recording The recording is enabled one of two ways. The first is by turning on the Motion Detect feature within the camera menu. If Motion Detect is turned on, then the camera will always be recording whenever motion is seen and will not record when there s nothing happening on-screen. The second is by pressing the REC button on the camera remote control. This will record constantly until the button is pressed again. This method will constantly record whether or not anything is happening in front of the camera. If you wish to manually take a snapshot of what the camera sees, press the Capture button on the remote once. The camera will immediately take a still-frame image of whatever is in front of it. Playback There are two ways to play back video clips within the system. The first is to connect the camera to a TV using the yellow/white RCA plugs, and to hit the Enter button on the remote. This will put the camera into playback mode. From here, you can browse through the clips using the back/next/up/down buttons, and play a clip using the Enter button. To exit the playback mode, press Source on the remote. The other way is to put the SD Memory Card into a computer using a memory card reader. You can then browse through the individual clips on the memory card, and play them by double-clicking on any of the files. The files are recorded in a format native to Microsoft Windows Media Player, and may not play back properly using any other media players.

Troubleshooting Problem Resolution Unit is not Outputting any Video Ensure the TV is on the correct Video Input Ensure the Camera is turned on and the power LED light is showing green. Ensure the Power Supply is connected, If the unit is running on battery power then the battery may have been drained. Unit Has no Power Ensure the power supply is snugly connected to the power connection on the cable The Power Supply may have a damaged fuse or connection. Contact technical support or replace with 12V 500mA Unit. Image is Distorted Ensure the TV Output is set correctly. Most units in North America require NTSC. Ensure the outlet that the power supply is connected to is properly grounded. Proximity to large amounts of other cabling can cause interference. Ensure the cable running from the camera to the TV is unrolled and not near other cables.

Go down to the function menu and press enter to open it up. 5) Hit Enter on the motion detect option, and turn the motion detection on. 6) The camera will now record whenever motion occurs in front of it.
