Support Levels Support Level with Exceptions/Minor Exceptions through Equivalent Facilitation when combined with Compatible AT Description The product fully meets the letter and intent of the Criteria. The product does not fully meet the letter and intent of the Criteria, but provides some level of access relative to the Criteria. The accessibility tester identified an alternate way to meet the intent of the Criteria or the product does not fully meet the intent of the Criteria. The product fully meets the letter and intent of the Criteria when used in combination with Compatible assistive technology (AT). For example, many software programs can provide speech output when combined with a compatible screen reader, commonly used AT for people who are blind. The product does not meet the letter or intent of the Criteria. The Criteria does not apply to the specific product. - Fundamental Alteration Exception Applies A Fundamental Alteration of the product would be required to meet the Criteria (see the access board s standards for the definition of "fundamental alteration").

1194.22 Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations (a) A text equivalent for every nontext element shall be provided (e.g., via "alt", "longdesc", or in element content). (b) Equivalent alternatives for any multimedia presentation shall be synchronized with the presentation. (c) Web pages shall be designed so that all information conveyed with color is also available without color, for example from context or markup. (d) Documents shall be organized so they are readable without requiring an associated style sheet. (e) Redundant text links shall be provided for each active region of a server-side image map. (f) Client-side image maps shall be provided instead of server-side image maps except where the regions cannot be defined with an available geometric shape. (g) Row and column headers shall be identified for data tables. (h) Markup shall be used to associate data cells and header cells for data tables that have two or more logical levels of row or column headers. (i) Frames shall be titled with text that facilitates frame identification and navigation Text equivalents for non-text elements are not provided, including all icon-based controls selectors. There are no multimedia presentations in vrealize Operations Manager 6.1. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 makes extensive use of color to convey meaning without providing accessible equivalents. This includes the uses of color to indicate status in charts and graphs, and the meaning of status icons, such as for Incidents. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 requires the use of the included style sheets for documents to function and render correctly. Disabling or replacing the included style sheets renders the product unusable. not utilize server-side image maps. not utilize client-side image maps. Column headers for data tables are neither constructed using <TH> elements nor are they included in the tables in which the data cells are rendered. Headers for data tables, including complex tables, are not included in the same tables in which the data cells are rendered. As a result, data cells cannot be associated with the header cells that describe them. Frames are used to render some chart content. These frames do not include text titles to identify their purpose.

Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations (j) Pages shall be designed to avoid causing the screen to flicker with a frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz. (k) A text-only page, with equivalent information or functionality, shall be provided to make a web site comply with the provisions of this part, when compliance cannot be accomplished in any other way. The content of the text-only page shall be updated whenever the primary page changes. (l) When pages utilize scripting languages to display content, or to create interface elements, the information provided by the script shall be identified with functional text that can be read by assistive technology. (m) When a web page requires that an applet, plug-in or other application be present on the client system to interpret page content, the page must provide a link to a plug-in or applet that complies with 1194.21(a) through (l). (n) When electronic forms are designed to be completed on-line, the form shall allow people using assistive technology to access the information, field elements, and functionality required for completion and submission of the form, including all directions and cues. not cause the screen to flicker. not utilize text-only pages. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 contains many script-generated custom controls that lack alternative text by which they could be identified to assistive technologies. Many of the custom controls also fail to provide full keyboard support, in that they do not appear in the tab order or they cannot be activated or controlled using the keyboard. This affects custom controls including links, edit combo boxes, most lists, the main navigational panel, and tree views, as a result, the use of a mouse or other pointing device is required to make full use of these controls. not provide links to download Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Excel Viewer to review generated reports. not provide full keyboard access to form elements, including custom controls. Affected controls do not appear in the tab order or cannot be activated or controlled using the keyboard, even with the added functionality provided by some assistive technologies.

Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations (o) A method shall be provided that permits users to skip repetitive navigation links. (p) When a timed response is required, the user shall be alerted and given sufficient time to indicate more time is required. This affects custom controls including links, edit combo boxes, most lists, the main navigational panel, and tree views, form fields, checkboxes, column headers and graphical buttons lack text labels, which makes them inaccessible to many assistive technology users. not provide a method to skip repetitive navigation links. not alert users prior to forcing logout due to inactivity.

1194.31 Functional Performance Criteria Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations (a) At least one mode of operation not require user vision shall be provided, or support for assistive technology used by people who are blind or visually impaired shall be provided. (b) At least one mode of operation not require visual acuity greater than 20/70 shall be provided in audio and enlarged print output working together or independently, or support for assistive technology used by people who are visually impaired shall be provided. (c) At least one mode of operation not require user hearing shall be provided, or support for assistive vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not provide a mode of operation not require user vision or support for assistive technologies used by people who are blind or visually impaired. With Exceptions Most graphical elements and controls lack any sort of alternative text to identify them. Keyboard access is limited or nonexistent on custom controls such as links, edit combo boxes, most lists, the main navigational panel, and tree views. Charts and graphs lack alternative text and provide detail information via inaccessible tooltips. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not require visual acuity greater than 20/70 and supports assistive technologies such as screen magnification. However, users who are color blind may be unable to use some of the displayed charts and graphs and will need to retrieve the information using a different view (if available) or via the detail tooltips. Also, status is often indicated by color alone, such as variously-colored icons of the same shape, and users who are color blind may be unable to distinguish between the colors to identify the status of each item. Similarly, such users may also have trouble identifying which tab is currently active or when a control or screen is disabled. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not produce audio and does not require user hearing.

Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations technology used by people who are deaf or hard of hearing shall be provided (d) Where audio information is important for the use of a product, at least one mode of operation and information retrieval shall be provided in an enhanced auditory fashion, or support for assistive hearing devices shall be provided. (e) At least one mode of operation not require user speech shall be provided, or support for assistive technology used by people with disabilities shall be provided. (f) At least one mode of operation not require fine motor control or simultaneous actions and that is operable with limited reach and strength shall be provided. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not produce audio and does not require user hearing. vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not require user speech. With Exceptions vrealize Operations Manager 6.1 does not require fine motor control. However, many controls such as links, edit combo boxes, most lists, the main navigational panel, and tree views require the use of a pointing device. Without accessible alternatives such as keyboard commands or text alternatives used as part of voice commands, users are limited to pointing device support provided by the assistive technology products in use.

1194.41 Information, Documentation, and Support Criteria Support Level Remarks and Explanations (a) Product support documentation provided to end-users shall be made available in alternate formats upon request, at no additional charge (b) End-users shall have access to a description of the accessibility and compatibility features of products in alternate formats or alternate methods upon request, at no additional charge. (c) Support services for products shall accommodate the communication needs of endusers with disabilities.
