Product Description This harness cable assembly is designed to integrate the J&M Blu<>Hub custom dongle06, (dongle06 not included with this harness kit) to the stock audio system on all years of the Yamaha Royal Star Venture. The J&M Bluetooth headset/dongle06 combination when used in this configuration will provide all of the standard functions of normal corded headsets on the Yamaha Venture audio system, but without the cord, including stereo music to the headsets, driver/passenger intercom, & CB radio if installed. Features of this dongle06 Venture audio system integration include; ** No in-headset echo or sound delay when using the Venture driver/passenger intercom system. ** Rider and passenger can each simultaneously link their J&M Bluetooth headset to their own cell phone or Garmin Zumo, for private, in-helmet cell phone communications and/or nav commands. ** Passenger will be able to use their own music volume control separate from the driver. ** Dongle06 harness has input plugs included for the 4 various J&M radar detector harnesses (extra cost item), with the radar detector beep/brap heard only in the DRIVER S Bluetooth headset. ** The stock Venture corded headset connectors can still be used, when the dongle06 is integrated into the audio system. This cable harness kit includes externally mounted driver/passenger linking/pairing switches, integration component box, all necessary cables, harnesses, & connection spades and complete installation/operation instructions. The J&M Blu<>Hub dongle06 component itself is NOT included with this harness connection kit. 2. Safety and General Information IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR DEVICE. Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Installation Instructions Integration component terminal Installation and connections 1. Remove: Windshield Outer Fairing Light Bar Driver and Passenger Seats Ignition Switch Cover Fuel tank
2. Position component terminal in the proper mounting position, inside fairing, under the Yamaha main radio component terminal. Once you have established the correct mounting position, clean the surface of this mounting area with denatured alcohol. 3. Remove the backing from the double-sided mounting tape and mount the integration component box. 4. Unplug the two pin white plug from the power accessory outlet; plug the two pin red plugs in series with the plugs from the accessory outlet. 5. Clean the area next to the left speaker and mount the Blu<>Hub dongle06 to this area by removing the backing from the double-backed tape.
Installing the Driver Pairing/Linking Button Control 1. Mount the drivers pairing button by first separating the two halves and installing the housing around the exposed handlebar right side, between the switch housing and the brake assembly, loosen the two Allen head bolts holding the brake assembly on the right hand handlebar and move the assembly over far enough to install the drivers pairing button. 2. Route the wire alongside the stock wiring down the handlebar, into the fairing, and plug it into the corresponding plug on the integration terminal. 3. Secure the wire with the zip ties provided. Connecting to the Driver s Headset Lead/Radar Cable 1. Locate the driver s headset extension din plug in the fairing coming from the Clarion radio, marked with the red tape, and unplug the plugs and then plug the dins from the integration component terminal in series with the driver s headset extension. 2. If you will use the radar detector audio beep function, route and connect your radar detector harness at this time and plug it into the corresponding plugs on the integration terminal. ( Specific J&M radar detector harness is NOT included with this integration kit)
Installing the Passenger & Extension Wiring Harness s 1. Route the black 12 pin plug on the long cable from the rear of the bike between the fender and frame rail to the left of the battery following the stock wiring from the rear of the bike under the frame rails forward of the battery, under the wiring protector on top of the breather box into the fairing and plug into the Blu<>Hub dongle06. 2. Route the stock passenger s headset lead under the passenger s seat and plug into the male din plug from the rear harness.
3. Route the female 5 pin din from the rear harness back to the stock dust cover holder where the stock headset lead was located. 4. Route the passenger pairing/linking button to the right side grab rail and secure with the Velcro straps. 5. Route the passenger s optional stereo input (3.5mm stereo plug) to the right side gab rail area, where convenient for the passenger to use while riding. 6. Secure all the wiring with the zip ties provided. Installing the Driver and Passenger BlueTooth Antennas 1. Clean the surface where the antennas will be mounted with denatured alcohol. 2. Remove the backing from the double-sided tape on the antennas and mount antennas, orange dot toward the fairing, just above the Blu<>Hub dongle06. 5. General Operation Instructions 1. Refer to the operations manual included with the Blu<>Hub dongle06, for proper J&M Bluetooth headset pairing/linking scenarios.
2. Adjust system intercom volume on the Yamaha Venture to level 0. 3. Once linked to the dongle06, make helmet to helmet intercom volume adjustments individually on the driver and passenger J&M Bluetooth headsets using the up/down volume buttons. (see J&M Bluetooth headset manual) 4. Start out with stereo music volume on the Yamaha Venture system set to level 10 and adjust as desired. 5. Start out with CB radio audio volume on the Yamaha Venture system set to level 10 and adjust as desired. (If so equipped) 6. The passenger can turn down/off the music/cb audio from the Yamaha Venture system using the stock passenger volume control, without affecting the driver to passenger intercom volume. 7. If the passenger elects to turn the audio from the Yamaha Venture system all the way off, using the stock passenger control, the passenger can then plug in their own I-Pod/MP3 portable audio device, using the supplied 3.5mm plug. Stereo volume adjustments, for the passenger, in this scenario are to be made on the portable I-Pod/MP3 device itself, (not on the headset) and adjust this volume as desired.
