IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. PRECAUTIONS Safety Information 1. In order to shut off the power of this product completely, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet or remove the connected USB cable. Be sure to unplug the unit and remove all power supply such as USB cable or dry batteries if you do not intend to use it for an extended period of time, such as while on vacation. 2. If this product develops trouble, contact a qualified service center, and do not use the product in a defective state. CAUTION: To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to wide slot, fully insert. BEFORE USE 1. Remove all packaging materials from unit. Check to make sure that you have removed all included components before discarding the box and packing. 2. Choose unit installation location carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or close to a source of heat. Also avoid locations subject to vibrations and excessive dust, cold or moisture. Keep away from sources that hum, such as transformers or motors. 3. Do not open the cabinet as this might result in damage to the circuitry or electrical shock. If a foreign object should get into the set, contact your dealer. 4. When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull the cord. 5. PM: PM time indicator FM: FM indicator led display power source The unit is designed to be operated by using the included AC adaptor. 2 x 1.5 V AAA batteries (not included) are also required for the clock, radio, preset and alarm memory backup. Connecting the power adaptor 1. Plug one end of the power adaptor into the DC in jack on the rear of the unit. 2. Connect the AC plug of the AC/DC adaptor to 100-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz power source. Disconnect the power adaptor when the unit is not used for a long period of time. battery installation 1. Unscrew to open the battery door on the bottom of the cabinet. 2. Insert 2 new AAA batteries (not included) into the compartment following the + and - markings inside the compartment and close the battery door. Note: Change batteries periodically to maintain battery backup. warning: DANGER OF EXPLOSION IF BATTERY IS INCORRECTLY REPLACED. REPLACE ONLY WITH THE SAME OR EQUIVALENT TYPE. battery care i. If the unit is not used for an extended period of time remove the battery. An old or leaking battery can cause damage to the unit and may void the warranty. ii. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may leak or explode. iii. Do not try to recharge batteries that are not intended to be recharged. They can overheat, rupture and leak. (Follow the battery manufacturer s directions.) iv. (a) Do not mix old and new batteries. (b) Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zink) or rechargeable (nickelcadmium) batteries. 5

clock setting Connect the power adaptor. The unit will be in standby mode. You can now set the clock time and adjust the LED brightness as follows: Setting The Time Manually 1.) To set the hour, press and hold the MEMORY/SET button until the hour digits flash. 2.) While the hour digits are flashing, repeatedly press the or button to select the correct hour digits. 3.) Press the MEMORY/SET button to confirm the hour setting and the minute digits will flash to prompt for input. 4.) While the minute digits are flashing, repeatedly press the or buttons until the correct minute digits are displayed. 5.) Press the MEMORY/SET button again to complete the clock setting. 6.) With the current time showing, press and hold the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button until 12H apppears and flashes on the display. Press the or button to switch to 24 hour format. i. When setting the PM time in 12H mode, make sure the PM indicator turns on. Dimmer 1. When the unit is in standby mode, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button to adjust the LED display brightness to high or low level. radio operations Tuning The Radio and Storing the Presets 1.) Press the POWER/FUNCTION button on the unit to turn on the unit. 2.) Press the POWER/FUNCTION button repeatedly to select the RADIO mode. The FM frequency will be displayed. 3.) Press and hold either the or button to automatically search for a station and stop when one is found. Press or button repeatedly to fine tune the station received during auto tuning. 4.) Press the MEMORY/SET button and or button to store the received stations in order. 5.) Press the MEMORY/SET button again to confirm the setting. 6.) Repeat steps 3-5 to search for, and store the desired stations. 20 stations can be stored in total. 7.) Press the CH MODE button and or button to select the stored station you wish to listen to. The LED display will show the frequency of the preset station 6

you selected. Then the unit will start playback. 8.) Adjust the sound level by pressing the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 buttons. i. Fully extend and relocate the FM antenna to get better reception ii. If the received FM stations are in stereo mode, the unit will play in stereo mode automatically. If reception is weak, press the MO/ST (Mono/Stereo) button to turn the unit to mono mode. alarm operations The unit provides two alarms: AL1 and AL2.You can choose to use them independently or simutaneously: setting the alarm(s) 1.) Press and hold POWER/FUNCTION button to turn off the unit. 2.) Press and hold the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/ AL button until the hour digits blinks. The alarm 1 or alarm 2 indicator will light depending on which alarm is chosen. 3.) When the hour digits blinks, press the or button to adjust your desired hour digits. 4.) Press the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 button to save the hour setting, the minute digits will blink. 5.) When the minute digits blink, press the or button to adjust your desired minute digits. 6.) Press the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 button to save the minute setting. 7.) Press the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 button and / at the same to select wakeup mode for buzzer (showing b ) or radio(showing F ). 8.) Press the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 button and / at the same time to adjust the volume level. Then press VOLUME+/ AL1 or VOLUME-/ AL2 / at the same to adjust the volume level. Press the VOLUME+/ AL1 or VOLUME-/ AL2 button to save. snooze function When the alarm rings, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button once. The alarm will stop and resume after 9 minutes. Turning The Alarm On/Off Press and hold POWER/FUNCTION button to place the unit into STANDBY mode. Press the VOLUME+/AL1 or VOLUME-/AL2 to deactivate the alarm. The previous presets will be cancelled and you can follow the alarm setting steps to reset the alarm. 7

LISTEN TO EXTERNAL AUDIO DEVICE This unit provides with an auxiliary input jack to connect your cell phone or MP3 player, etc. 1.) Use an audio cable (not included) with 3.5mm stereo plug on each end of the cable. 2.) Plug one end into the AUX IN Jack on the rear of the unit and the other end of the cable into the Line-out jack or phone jack on your external audio device. 3.) Press the POWER FUNCTION button repeatedly until AU appears on the display, the unit will turn to Aux in mode. 4.) Activate your external device. 5.) During playback: Press the VOLUME+/ AL1 button to increase the volume. Press the VOLUME-/ AL2 button to decrease the volume. i. / or buttons only work with a Bluetooth source. ii. If there is no sound, or the sound is not loud enough, you can increase the volume from your source device. iii. There is a USB charger on the rear of the unit to charge an ipod/iphone device. bluetooth operations Pairing 1. Press the POWER/FUNCTION button repeatedly until bt appears on the display. 2. Activate the Bluetooth pairing on your external device. The source will now scan for other Bluetooth devices and should find the unit, identified as Nexxtech 8007366. Choose it to pair with your device. 3. Press the button to start playback. i. Enter 0000 if asked for a password during pairing. ii. Before pairing, disconnect the AUX IN cable. Playback control Press to skip to the previous track. Press to skip to the next track. Press to switch between play and pause. Press VOLUME+/ ALARM1 button to increase the volume. Press VOLUME-/ ALARM2 button to decrease the volume. 8

i. / or buttons may not work with some of the players in your external devices. Receiving a call The built-in microphone on the top of the unit enables hands-free button to answer the call. If you receive a call, press the button to answer the call. Press the button again if you want to hang up. Press and hold the button to reject the call. Placing a call When the Bluetooth device dials a contact number, the music playing will stop and the unit will become a phone speaker. Press and hold button to dial the last number called. sleep timer The sleep timer allows you to turn the unit off after the preset time is reached. You can use the sleep timer to fall asleep to the radio for 90,80,70,60,50,40,30,20 or 10 minutes intervals. 1.) Select the desired radio station or activate your AUX IN / Bluetooth source and set the volume to the comfortable level. 2.) Press the SNOOZE/SLEEP/DIMMER button repeatedly to select a sleep time. Each time the button is pressed, the sleep time will be decreased in 10 minute increments. The unit will play for the selected length of time then automatically turn off. 9

troubleshooting If you experience difficulties in the use of the unit, please check the following: PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION The unit is not responding. (No power). The external audio device does not respond to the unit. Weak FM reception. Sound is distorted. No sound from the Bluetooth device. AC adaptor is not plugged into the wall outlet or the other end of the adaptor is not plugged into the DC IN jack on the back of the unit. Wall outlet is not functioning. The unit is set to the wrong mode. The external audio device is locked up. The FM antenna is not fully extended. Volume/Bass level set too high. Sound source is distorted The unit is set to the wrong mode. AUX IN cable is connected. 10 Plug the AC adaptor into the wall outlet and plug the other end of the AC adaptor into the DC IN jack on the back of the unit. Plug another device into the same outlet to see whether the wall outlet is working or not. Set the unit to AUX IN/Bluetooth mode. Make sure the external audio device is working properly. Fully extend and relocate antenna for best reception. Decrease the volume level and adjust the Bass level. The original sound source is of poor quality. Distortion and noise are easily noticed with high power speakers. Try a different audio source.
