October, 2003 For product information: IntelliTools Classroom Suite: 3 IntelliTalk 3 IntelliMathics 3 Introduction Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998 requires that federal agencies ensure that disabled employees and members of the public have access to information, computers and networks comparable to access enjoyed by people without disabilities. On December 21, 2000, the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (the Access Board) issued final accessibility standards for electronic and information technology (EIT) covered by Section 508. These standards set forth a definition of EIT and the technical and functional performance criteria necessary for such technology to be considered accessible. IntelliTools has been developing products and technologies accessible to people with disabilities. The following information outlines the accessibility features of IntelliPics Studio 3 in the context of the Section 508 standards. The document contains subsets of the EIT Accessibility Standards as published in 36 CFR Part 1194 and provides an analysis of and IntelliMathics 3 as compared to these standards. Product Overview IntelliTools Classroom Suite is a cross-platform, network-ready integrated suite of three award-winning prek-8 classroom tools: IntelliPics Studio 3-a multimedia presentation tool, IntelliTalk 3-a talking word processor and writing tool, 3-a

Classroom Suite s cross-curricular authoring and presentation tools help educators meet teaching goals, providing curriculum-based activities, answer tracking and assessment capabilities, and sophisticated creativity and self-expression software. IntelliPics Studio 3 is an exciting and award-winning multimedia-authoring tool that offers prek-8 teachers and students a range of activities across grade levels and content areas. Curriculum activities come to life and engage students, while paint and drawing tools, animation tools, and video, sound, and image importing, and easy presentation templates engage students and set the stage for exciting slide shows, storybooks, and presentations. IntelliTalk 3 is an innovative and award-winning word processor that allows prek-8 students to combine graphics, text, and speech to support and enhance writing and communication skills. Special features, including word prediction, auditory feedback, and Spell Check, promote comprehension, reinforce concepts, and provide a multi-sensory writing environment for all learners. IntelliTalk 3 is also an excellent authoring tool, ideal for creating curriculum activities. IntelliMathics 3 is an award-winning mathematics authoring program that lets prek-8 students explore the magic of math and how it integrates into everyday life. Activities using virtual manipulatives help students see mathematical relationships never fully understood before.
