Extricom: Interference-Free Wireless LAN System Configuration Settings The Extricom Switch can be configured in several different methods: via the Web Configuration Utility, SNMP (via the EXNM-2000), and CLI (via SSH or Serial). This document will describe all configuration steps using the Web Configuration Utility only. Configuration changes need to be applied before they take effect. See Applying the Configuration Changes below. Connecting to the Extricom Switch Via the Web Configuration Utility The Extricom Switch can be accessed using https: https://<switch IP address> The default switch IP address is 192.168.1.254. 1. Login using the default user id (admin) and password (Switch1). 2. On successful login the following Summary screen is displayed: PN: 1725-36163-001_B.doc 5

Extricom: Interference-Free Wireless LAN System Changing the Switch IP Address 1. Navigate to the LAN Configuration screen. 2. Change the IP Address, Netmask, and Default Gateway appropriately. 3. Click the Update button. Connecting Access Points 1. Access points can be connected to any port at any time. 2. The access points are automatically configured by the Extricom Switch and are active within 5 to 10 seconds. PN: 1725-36163-001_B.doc 7

Radio Configuration 1. Navigate to the WLAN Settings screen. 2. Extricom s APs have multiple Radios (the EXRP-20 has two and the EXRP-40 has four). Each radio that is used with SpectraLink i640 Wireless Telephone should be configured as follows: 3. Configure the radio to 802.11b. 4. Change the max retries to 2. 5. Select the Allow Rate Adaptation check box. 6. Data rate should be determined from the RF site survey. Verify you have sufficient coverage to support the minimum data rate configured. Select the Adapt check box to the left of each data rate used. Extricom: Interference-Free Wireless LAN System SSID Configuration 1. Navigate to the SSID & Security screen. 2. Configure a VLAN ID if one is used. 3. Configure the DTIM period to 3. 4. Configure the Encryption & Authentication to be used. Extricom supports all 802.11i encryption and authentication methods. If WEP or WPA/WPA2 PSK is chosen, configure the pass phrase. 5. Applying the Configuration Changes 1. Navigate to the Utilities screen. 2. Click the Update button in the Reconfigure Switch section to apply the configuration changes. 3.
