Each sales representative can write many invoices, but each invoice is written by a single sales representative. The INVOICE is written for a single CUSTOMER. However, each customer can have many invoices. An INVOICE can include many detail lines (LINE), each of which describes one product bought by the customer. The product information is stored in a PRODUCT entity. The product s vendor information is found in a VENDOR entity. Note: Make sure that you include the attributes that are able to show relevant entities with all connectivity and cardinality. (c) When to use Composite Primary Keys? The company has 150,000 subscribers distributed throughout the three states. In every three months, a customer profile is printed and sent to each subscriber for profile update. The SUBSCRIBER entity contains a SUBS_STATE attribute to indicate the subscriber s state of residence (PLS, KDH, PNG) as follows: SUBSCRIBER (SUBS_ID, SUBS_NAME, SUBS_ADDRESS, SUBS_CITY, SUBS_STATE, SUBS_ZIP, SUBS_PHONE) The company has decided to decentralize management of subscription into the company s three state branches. Each state branch will handle its own subscriber data. Given these requirements, answer the following questions: What type of data fragmentation is needed for SUBSCRIBER entity? What must be the criteria used to partition each database? Design the database fragments by showing appropriate example for each database. (10/100) (b) Assume that you are working in a financial institution. Your company assigned you the responsibility of selecting the corporate database management system (DBMS). Develop a checklist for the technical and other aspects involved in the selection process. Explain each item in your checklist using appropriate examples. (15/100)...6/-
