For all user accounts with EMEA IBX data centers. Main Menu Change: Regional Selection Change Only users belonging to an organization with IBXs Enschede and Zwolle (EN1 & ZW1) in Netherlands will see this new navigation element. If your portal account includes other EMEA, Americas or APAC region IBX data centers and EN1 & ZW1, the default view will be GLOBAL which links to the new Equinix systems and processes and allows ordering of Equinix products and services for those IBX data centers. Switching to EN1/ZW1 will enable ordering of products and services for those IBX data centers. The Home Page Dashboard data displayed will follow the regional selection The Submitted Requests page will display request history based on the region selected Your Equinix Install Base will display assets based on the region selected User management remains global for Administrators IBX Notifications, Invoices, Reports and Support remain as global functions This is a temporary state that will be eliminated in 2016 when all new systems and processes will be enabled for EN1 & ZW1 If you do not have the EN1 & ZW1 data centers in your account you will not see this navigation. Updated Install Base Reports to Include Legacy Asset Information In release 3.2 EMEA customers will now see new cage names when placing orders. To help with the transition to using the new cage names we have added legacy asset information to the Install Base Reports so that customers can use this legacy information for reference while placing orders and to help with understanding and analyzing the asset report (Install Base Report). As part of this release, a cleanup of the report was undertaken to make this report easier to use. Equinix has repositioned some of the columns and enhanced column titles to make it easier to read and navigate Install Base reports. Changes have been made to the following tabs to add legacy asset information. Cage Cabinet Patch Panel Cross Connect A-Side Cross Connect Z-Side Power - AC + DC Metered Power
Changes to Cross Connect and Deinstall Ordering Pages Equinix Customer Portal now provides users with search capabilities on key fields so that they may cross-reference their legacy assets to new asset identifiers which will enable them to place Cross Connect and Deinstall orders more easily. The new feature provides the search capabilities across legacy and other attributes next to asset fields on the Cross Connect and Deinstall ordering pages. There is a search icon displayed next to each of the items listed below which will launch the search panel for each field: Cage Cabinet Patch Panel (not displayed for Deinstall order form)
Added the Purchase Order Reference Field to All Ordering Workflows Customers who require or would like to reference a purchase order at the time of order entry may use this field to enter their P.O. number which will flow to your request history, Install Base and invoices. This is a required field for P.O. Bearing customers for Cross Connect and Power orders. The optional Customer Internal Reference field has been retained for entry of other information that may pertain to a specific request and may be searched in your request history. View and Download Attachments in the Updated Submitted Requests Page The Submitted requests page has been updated to reflect the new Equinix product and process changes and now shows four levels in the order hierarchy including order header, order line, order sub-line and activities where applicable. The ability to view and download attachments submitted with requests via the portal has been added to this release. Historical attachments for orders submitted prior to the release are not available.
LC Connector Type is Now Available for Cross Connects LC Connectors are now available on fiber Cross Connects. LC connector type will only be available to select if your patch panel is flagged as LC compliant.
For all user accounts with EMEA IBX data centers. Phone Number Validation with Country Code When new Administrators or Users are added or your existing profile is modified, there is a new requirement to validate your phone numbers and include the international country code in a separate field. This will enable our Equinix Service Desks to more quickly access your profile and permissions when you contact Equinix. We encourage you to verify that your phone numbers are updated and the country code is correctly applied. New Install Base Permission We have created a new permission which enables Administrators to manage Install Base access at the IBX or Cage level. This will allow Administrators to enable or restrict Install Base access for any Users in your organization or subcustomers of resellers. Shipping Contact Permission Added to ECP Previously the Shipping Contact permission could only be set by the Equinix Service Desk or your Customer Service Manager. This permission defines the accounts for which you will receive Pending Shipment Notifications which alert you to shipments that have arrived at an IBX without an inbound shipment ticket. This permission is assigned at the account level and will generate notifications for all IBX data centers associated to the selected accounts.
RELEASE 3.2 FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS FOR EMEA Media Converter Option Added to Cross Connect Ordering For certain types of connections that require a media converter because of the cable run distance, Equinix technicians need permission to use a media converter before the Cross Connect installation may be completed. Previously, the IBX technician would contact the Equinix Service Desk to request approval from our customers. This new element in the Cross Connect ordering forms allows you to inform the IBX technician of approval in advance which reduces the time required to complete your order. This is not applicable to Single Mode Fiber connections. Next Available Port default Added to Cross Connect Ordering While ECP already defaults ports to the next available port, our customers did not find this to be intuitive and requested a more explicit indication of the selection of next available ports during Cross Connect ordering. Next Available Port will always be the default which also sets a flag for our IBX technicians which enables them to choose ports that are available when an occupied port is discovered without the need to send the order back to the Equinix Service Desk for clarification with the ordering contact. You may easily open the Port A and Port B drop down menus and select specific ports for both the A-Side and Z-Side connections, and the IBX technician must use the defined ports, but if a defined port is discovered to be occupied, the order will be sent back to the Equinix Service Desk for clarification. Re-Activation of ECP Mobile for the EMEA Region with Enhancements ECP Mobile will be re-activated for the EMEA region as of July 20 and will include the addition of Inbound and Outbound Shipments and Conference Room reservations for both the ios and Android platforms. www.equinix.com 2015 Equinix, Inc.
