709/709H Users Manual Supplement Change #1 On page 2, under Product features include:, add: German or English user interface On page 9, before the Main Menu section, add: German Language Selection To enable the German language user interface, simultaneously push and hold the Light and 100 % buttons while powering up the Product. The Product then prompts you to select German or English. Push the Selection Knob to proceed. Push MENU/EXIT to return to the Modify Setup menu. The available units are shown with the present unit highlighted in reverse video. The available units listed correspond to the type of unit presently selected. For example, if the present unit is PSI, then only pressure units are listed. Another example is if the present unit is C, then only temperature units are listed. PV Units settings are limited to the common practice command specification for HART protocol. If the PV units are not standard and are proprietary to a manufacturer using device specific commands they may not be supported. 2 10/13

The symbol in the upper right corner flashes to show a working HART connection. Rotate the Selection Knob to move the reverse video highlight to the desired unit. Push and hold the Selection Knob to send the new value to the HART device, returning to the Modify Setup menu after showing a reminder to change the loop to AUTOMATIC. An error is shown if the HART device rejects the value for any reason. Push MENU/EXIT to return to the Modify Setup menu. A reminder to change the loop to AUTOMATIC is shown first. 10/13 3

Tag Name Write Short Tag Write Long Tag Write Descriptor Write Message The tag name is truncated to fit on one line when necessary. The symbol in the upper right corner flashes to indicate a working HART connection. Rotate the Selection Knob to move the reverse video cursor to the desired item. The symbol in the upper right corner flashes to indicate a working HART connection. The character selected for change is indicated by an underline cursor. Short tag is up to 8 characters long from a limited character set that does not include lower case. Long tag is up to 32 characters long from the full character set. Descriptor is up to 16 characters long from a limited character set that does not include lower case. Message is up to 32 characters long from a limited character set that does not include lower case. Rotate the Selection Knob to modify the selected character by scrolling through the available character set. 10/13 5
709/709H Users Push and hold the Selection Knob to send the new value to the HART device, returning to the Modify Setup menu. An error is shown if the HART device rejects the value for any reason. Push the Selection Knob to move the cursor one character to the right. Push the 25 % button to move the cursor one character to the left. Push the 0 % button to delete the selected character. Push the 100 % button to insert a space in front of the selected character. Push the Step/Ramp button to show a help screen. Push the Selection Knob or MENU/EXIT on the help screen to resume the modification at the same position. Push MENU/EXIT to return to the Modify Setup menu. 6 10/13
